  2. It means she voted but if she votes for the wrong Muslim party she might die because militant Muslims in Iraq are at civil war with each other, that war exacerbated by Bush's war against Iraqis, a war that has cost how many thousands of lives to hold up that "peace sign"?, America's war against the Iraqis was our false flag revenge attack from America using Iraqis as scapegoats for Saudi Arabian terrorism against America in 9-11. Like Palestinians are the Jews' scapegoat for what Europeans did to them in WW II.

  4. Stephen, stop. The Jews do not blame Palestinians for what happened to them in WW II. They know full well who is to blame for that.

And, how can you not celebrate for these people, who, in their first free election, risked death to go to the polls, and who now have another election that is expected to have more participation from those warring factions you mention?

Do you not remember the elections which gave Sadamm 99%? Those were not Free elections.

Take a minute to be happy for them. And to indulge in a moment's pride that you, that THIS COUNTRY helped them get there.

  5. THIS COUNTRY killed too many Iraqis for me to feel any pride in our interference in Iraqi politics. Like the old Communist regimes, Saddam kept an iron fisted control over Sunnis and Shites, not allowing them to kill each other as Bush's war has done. Not saying that's necessarily all that good but in terms of body counts, yes, Iraqis were safer and less prone to violence under Saddam as were the Communist countries, like Yugoslavia that fell apart and spawned some of the worst atrocities ever seen in history.

And Rose, why didn't you cheer the Hamas democratic election victory?

If you don't think Israelis are using their European holocaust as rationale for continuing to attack Palestinians and take their land, do some homework on what is the most prevalent worry of Israeli Jews, yes, their European holocaust is their greatest worry even now so they make Palestinians pay for their paranoia of Europeans..and you buy into this idiocy that kills innocent people.

  6. WHO broke the ceasefire? WHO broke ceasefire after ceasefire after ceasefire?

WHo straps suicide vests, BOMBS, on their own sons?

Who gassed the Kurds? Who put people in mass graves?

WHO stones a teenage girl on camera, kicking her and crushing her skull with cinder blocks, holding their cellphones up to capture their own glee?

WHO stones and kills women who get pregnant out of wedlock? Kills their own daughters for having a boyfriend?

Hint: It wasn't us. It wasn't the Israelis

    STOP! THINK!

No matter what your race, creed, or history, THOSE THINGS ARE UNACCEPTABLE.

    PERIOD. END OF STORY.

If it means killing those who perpetrate those crimes, and those who allow those crimes to go on, so be it.

  8. Hey Stevie why not give your hatred a rest for awhile? Six months would be a nice start. Forever would be even better ....

  9. Stephen doesn't need to stop his hate. It automatically has to regenerate after a few days of non-stop usage. Needs more fuel, dontcha know. Why else did Stephen abandon this this thread?

Plenty more to discuss there, but just like with Hizbollah and Hamas, being a hater and helping to kill people requires a few ceasefires once in a while. Just to recharge for the next game, of course.

  10. Saddam kept an iron fisted control over Sunnis and Shites, not allowing them to kill each other as Bush's war has done.

The alliance between radical crusaders on the Left and the old Middle Eastern dictators, tyrants, and religious fundamentals also brings a tear to my eye.

Tears of joy in finally knowing that their cloak has fallen. That they can no longer easily claim the moral high ground from the rest of us, who have never stopped fighting corruption, exploitation, and aggression.

When you have to make excuses for people like Saddam and his sons, when you have to ally yourself politically with terrorists and mass murderers, this is a good thing for this country. Not good because of the existence of such an alliance, but good because your true roots are finally out in the open. Vietnam showed a glimpse, but it wasn't enough. Not enough died there and it was covered up shortly after. But now, today, with the internets, things are much harder to erase and cover up.

We will remember your alliances, Stephen, even when you have forgotten. And there are plenty of those who, after 9/11, got a plenty strong motivation to look closer at the groups and people that they once supported.

  12. Anti-Zionism = hate. In who's book of definitions is that? Zionists, and only Zionists see defense of Palestinians as "hatred". Most everyone else sees Palestinians as human beings worthy of defense when stomped on by Zionists acting just like Nazis.

And Rose, do some homework OUTSIDE of your Zionist sources, please! You seem to overlook every single time Israeli hijinks in provoking Palestinian responses. Look at my blog and Mazim Qimseyeh's time-line to see how Israel undoes each and every cease-fire and truce by either expanding settlements or killing Hamas leaders and families. Then again you will never see the right of people's to defend their own homeland when they are Muslims so why I bother debating with you is getting to the question now.

I think I will break it off here because in Humboldt County I am outnumbered by Zionists even though if one goes to the Bay Area there my anti-Zionists sentiments fit right in with Progressive politics. Progressives in Humboldt County seem to be aligned with Republicans like Rose when it comes to defending Israel. A few exceptions like Msquran but in the main, anti-Zionists here are silent while the Zionists fill their blogs with hate Muslims, hate Islam, hate Palestinians, almost everyday. My blog tries to undo the Zionist propaganda that otherwise goes unchecked and certainly unprotested.

  13. But, Stephen, what you fail to see is, we also "hate" neo-Nazis, KKK members, Aryan brotherhood, and any other permutation of that evil.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with race. It has EVERYTHING to do with their actions.

That same evil that flowered as the Nazis has been reborn under a new umbrella. And it must be stopped.

I encourage you to keep telling the other side, for we should never forget, and do not forget, that there are innocent victims caught in the crossfire.

But don't make the mistake of thinking that we wish to see the Palestinians STOP STRAPPING BOMBS ON THEIR TEENAGE SONS AND SENDING THEM INTO PIZZA PARLORS TO MURDER iSRAELIS simply because they are israelis - and I ask you, who is racist here? - don't make the mistake of thinking we do not care about Palestinian PEOPLE. The rational ones. That would be a mistake.

And it disturbs me to hear that San francisco would be fomenting the horrific notion that it is ok to hate Jewish people.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Read that: But don't make the mistake of thinking that BECAUSE we wish to see the Palestinians STOP STRAPPING BOMBS ON THEIR TEENAGE SONS AND SENDING THEM INTO PIZZA PARLORS TO MURDER iSRAELIS that we do not care. Au contraire.

  15. Just have to add - You can imagine the shockwaves the statement that Progressives in Humboldt County seem to be aligned with Republicans like Rose is causing! LOL!

  16. "But, Stephen, what you fail to see is, we also "hate" neo-Nazis, KKK members, Aryan brotherhood, and any other permutation of that evil."

That would be Rose's short list. Her generic list is longer.

Hey, look over that guy's left shoulder at those American soldiers. I just get so kinda patriotic for purple finger democracy. Where's the fireworks?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hey, Rose, you want me to write my comments about Israeli atrocities in BIG PRINT too to match your propaganda, huh? Wanna see pictures of cluster bombed Palestinian children? Or families blown apart by white phosphorus bombs after being strafed by F-16 fighter jets? Hmmm?
You want a rerun of how we obliterated, incinerated tens of thousands of poorly armed Iraqis sent against U.S. soldiers in the Gulf War? Want close ups of those burned Muslim bodies?

You don't remember our American past atrocities, you fail to recall all the hideous acts of Christians for centuries, no, you want to say ONLY Muslims are doing all these terrible things so you can feel good about paying your taxes to kill more Muslims. In other words, you are leading a cheering squad for American and Israeli killers, giving them a free pass to kill and kill again in other people's lands distabilizing their social systems to the max, while hypocritically pointing a finger of guilt at Muslims when your own hands are bloody.

Sorry, Rose and Zionists. You have no moral high ground from which to criticize the actions of Muslims. Yes, they do individual acts of terror but you forget what terror is when you ignore how a Palestinian family feels when attacked by jet fighter planes. Get over your prejudices against Muslims and become a humane being. It's not as if Western Christian history has anything more humanitarian to offer than Islam and you should know this by now.

  18. Stephen,
We would like you to link to your "Israeli atrocities" evidence. Just realize that photoshopped and staged phony bullshit won't qualify.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Stephen, I think you should post them on your site. Under no circumstances do I think your site should be shut down. Heck, there are people who think mine should be shut down just because I registered to vote with one party instead of another.

I don't think I have posted pictures of any atrocities here, except that video of that monster using Holocaust footage and cackling as the Jewish men and women's emaciated corpses were flung into a ditch. I had hoped that you would understand their mindset after seeing that.

You should also look at those links Leonidas has provided, the evidence is clear. Rust does not develop overnight. There are many many more examples like the ones he cites, including video where the supposed doctors are performing CPR on a young victim, another hoax.

Regardless, if you want to save people from becoming victims, you should be pushing for the Palestinians to STOP bombing, to ban all weapons in their territories, and to stop the violence. That is certainly a much easier way, since as long as they continue their aggression it will be met with retaliation.

NOWHERE where the Muslim conflicts erupt do you see them supporting any of the things you value - rioting over a cartoon, Stephen. Calling for the death of an author simply for questioning religious tenets. Jailing Geert Wilders for his video, which is FAR LESS inflammatory than even those photos Leonidas has linked to.

They are not about tolerance, Stephen. Therefore they deserve none in return.

  20. In who's book of definitions is that? Zionists, and only Zionists see defense of Palestinians as "hatred".

Throwing rocks at my neighbor's windows isn't really "defense".

Wanna see pictures of cluster bombed Palestinian children?

That's due to Palestinians killing their own and then not burying them so that TV crews can get them nice, big, and shiny for people like you here in the West.

Or families blown apart by white phosphorus bombs after being strafed by F-16 fighter jets? Hmmm?

F-16 jets have more accurate and lethal firepower delivery systems than strafing and WP doesn't blow things up, they burn through.

acts of Christians for centuries, no, you want to say ONLY Muslims are doing all these terrible things

Since you are the one ignoring Comanche and Amerindian atrocities while focusing only on Western actions, who is really projecting their faults on others, so des neh.

Get over your prejudices against Muslims and become a humane being.

A humane human being doesn't excuse mass murder, rape, torture, and death squads on the basis that they were "afraid".

  21. It's not as if Western Christian history has anything more humanitarian to offer than Islam and you should know this by now.

Total hypocrisy, Rose, total. Why do you even bother to post this crap that completely ignores WHY Palestinians resist Israeli AGGRESSION, proven aggression, proven violation of the original U.N. mandate's boundaries for Israel, proven incursion of Israelis into the Palestinian pieces(!) where Israelis have built illegal settlements to control the Palestinian population like inmates in an Israeli open-air jail. You have zero comprehension of what it is like to live under occupation all your fucking life with no hope in sight of an end to it. And you have done NOTHING to deserve this treatment except RESIST it! And Americans with a white supremist attitude cannot see pain and misery when non-Europeans experience it. Where is your heart, Rose? Why do you insist Palestinians stop resisting a horrible life for them under Israeli domination? You just want them to lie down and die and let Israelis walk all over them, take their land, take the lives of those who resist, fuck up generations of Palestinians who learn life is one continual check-point where Jewish people judge you for your skin color and language and history and judge that they are more fit to occupy your land than you, judge that their people from Europe and America, and all over the world have more right to be in your land than you have or the generations of your family. You want Pals to ignore this because Native Americans lied down in the face of overwhelming immigrant numbers and firepower, why can't Palestinians do the same and leave Israelis alone?

Wrong century, Rose. That white supremist Manifest Destiny won't fly in our 21st century in its Eretz Yisrael form and neither does the Third Reich, Master Race ideology fly in its Zionist Eretz Yisrael form. You get rid of Jewish fascism directed towards Palestinians and enemies of Israel and maybe Israelis wouldn't find themselves so hated by Middle East peoples.

Christians have committed some of the worst atrocities ever seen on earth so what Muslims do with relative infrequency while Christians did it it like clockwork in most all their colonial takeovers, as Jews are doing now, is peanuts in comparison. Like I said before, Rose and Zionists have no moral high ground to point any fingers. None. Remember what we have done: Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Dresden, and all the crimes against humanity our forefathers committed against non-European peoples. Time to stop this madness, Rose. So open your eyes to the Other Side of the picture and stop supporting terrorism when it comes armed against civilians with sophisticated weapons instead of desperate poor people who will sacrifice their lives to stop the foreign invaders and occupiers.

"Western Christian History" has given me a place to live, unsurpassed in the history of mankind, that allows freedom of all kinds, freedom to choose a religion, or not; freedom to choose your own career; freedom from a caste system; so many freedoms you cannot list them all, including freedom from worrying about some zealot pulling a fuse on a suicide vest as he murders you and your friends as you go out for pizza.

"Western Christian History" has brought about the greatest tolerance the world has ever seen - to the point that its own success may be its undoing.

Those who would take away those freedoms must be stopped, Stephen. The alternative is too bleak and horrific to imagine.

  24. We have no way of knowing what the world would be like under Native American rule, if history had not taken the path it did. perhaps it would be better. Perhaps it would be worse.

We do, however, see the results in some other countries, such as the horrific violence on the African continent, and the continued aggressions by dictators like Saddam, and the rumblings from Iran. It's not like they are content to let their neighbors live and let live, Stephen.

You refuse to acknowledge the primary factor in all but one of the world's conflicts at present. But, hint: it isn't US.

  25. Rose, love you gal, but you have to quit posting anything about Iraq, Palestine, etc. Stephen loses all reason and you can't stop him from all of these bizarre comments. 26. Help him...no help all of us here and just stop posting stuff that makes him do this.

You hear that, Rose? For "social conformity" you have to censure yourself. Guess what happened to Britain when they did that.

Stephen won't be helped at all even if Rose stops writing about his little hot spots. For one thing, Stephen has demonstrated perfect discipline in ignoring such issues, so long as it doesn't come from Rose.

So Rose is the problem. If I were to say the things Rose has written, Stephen wouldn't have much of a reaction, assuming he has one at all. It is Rose that is the problem.

Except, of course, Stephen is the problem and Rose is only a side effect.

There is a thing called "cognitive dissonance" that starts working in S's head once he combines the two things of "Rose is a friend and a good person" with "Rose is mouthing off Zionist propaganda and supporting Jewish atrocities".

This kind of friction is not tolerable for weaklings and thus they, like Stephen, must lash out in false outrage at somebody. Rose is as good as any target in the end. It's all her fault, never Stephen's responsibility.

This is true cognitive dissonance. "Western Christianity" is crushing Palestinian Muslims via support of Jewish colonizers taking another 3rd World over for white European control freaks. No understanding, no compassion for the victims of "Western Christianity".

You all have only American Zionists to hold onto. I have the majority of European activists and certainly the whole Muslim world to support my views of Israeli aggressors. And post your cherry picking atrocities that will not show any Israeli or American terrorism. My blog periodically does show what our taxes pay for in pictures of dead children burned and exploded with our armaments but even though the statistics show Israelis killing children at a far greater rate than Pals, you people are deaf to truth when it contradicts your fantasy of white good guys vs. the brown-skinned savages.

  28. Stephen, I ask you again and again, what would happen if the Palestinians STOPPED the attacks?

WHAT HAPPENED when their demands were met, agreed to in the Peace negotiations? They moved the bar. Tolerance, compromise, appeasement and good will are seen as signs of weakness - something your new President is about to learn to his dismay.

You are a fool to make assessments of their culture using your own as a barometer Weakness may be seen here as a sign of virtue, that is not hte case elsewhere.

Do you not hear that humanitarian aid gets stolen and used as a weapon? Deceit and treachery abound. They laugh at people like you who are useful tools, diverting our national will to survive while they build arsenals by every means possible, including humanitarian aid.

There will be more Peace Talks, Stephen. As your friends if they have intention of honoring any agreements that are forged.

In the meantime, Iraqis have just held another successful election. Let us hope that they do NOT, as mresquan suggested, choose leaders like Hamas, and undo all the good that has been done.

  32. Stephen, I ask you again and again, what would happen if the Palestinians STOPPED the attacks?

WHAT HAPPENED when their demands were met, agreed to in the Peace negotiations?

Rose, I tell you again and again, Palestinians are reacting to Israeli aggression. Hamas has said many times that they would agree to Israel going back to their pre-1967 borders which are still more than what the original U.N. partition called for. You don't understand that Israel has shown zero interest in staying within their U.N. mandated borders and all through these years has continued to build more and more Israeli settlements inside Palestinian territory. And when settlements are in place, it gives Israelis an excuse to "protect" them by expanding occupation security so that Pals cannot move from one area of even their own towns to another without going through these Israeli check-points.

Why don't you and your Zionists friends petition Israel to pull back to its pre-1967 borders so that Pals, including Hamas do not have a reason to attack Israelis? If Israelis had obeyed the U.N. mandate and cooperated with Palestinians from the start things might have turned out differently but Israelis didn't and I think they never will on their own. Zionism demands all of Palestine be converted to Jewish Israel and that's what Israelis are doing, going for it all.

Watch and see if I'm wrong about Israel not willing to concede their West Bank settlements which would probably end the I-P conflict right there if they would only get out of the remainder of Palestinian land. You need to start looking seriously at the history of Israeli aggression before you continue to call on Palestinians not to resist what they and any invaded country should resist.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The "borders" Stephen refers to are into the Mediterranean because Hamas' objective ss clearly written into their charter is the death of ALL jews in addition to the end of the Israeli state. The jews' homeland was overrun (as in OCCUPIED) by muslims in the 6th century where they were forced to live as dhimmis for 16 centuries until the Ottomans were driven out in 1916. The area was Jewish land for centuries before mohammed molested his first child.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ha ha, and what Zionist comic book did you get that "history" from? Look it up. Hamas have agreed to Israel's pre-1967 borders but Israel won't agree to them because Zionist Jews are greedy people, greedy European and Americans using Jewish myths as rationale to kill Arab Muslims in the Jewish European way to conquest of non-European territory following the footsteps of former European aggressors who genocided non-European peoples most everywhere they went colonizing non-European lands for Europeans to own and control.

Canaan existed as a confederation of tribal kingdoms and cities like Byblos, Tyre, and Sidon for several thousand years before falling to Egyptian armies like Tutmoses III's which more or less destroyed the Canaan confederation. Israelites moved into the power vacuum after 1000 B.C., only to be soundly defeated by Assyrians in the 6 century B.C. who then ruled until the Persians defeated them and allowed Israelites to return from their Babylonian captivity to form Israel again briefly until the Romans came in and defeated them soundly and set up their puppet regime in the 3rd century B.C. which finally ousted all the Jews from Palestine in the 2nd century A.D. From about 120 A.D. to the late 1800's Jews in Palestine were a tiny minority and even after Zionist European Jewish immigrants started to go to Palestine in 1947 at the time of partition, Jews constituted only 30% of the Palestinian population. Yet, being Europeans primarily, this 30% was given the majority share of Palestinian partition by the European-American controlled new U.N. in 1948. Since then of course European and American Jews have been unwelcomed foreign immigrants to the land they seem unable to share with anyone else because they are very greedy for other people's land and are not at all shy about telling the world enormous historical fictions such as Israel's "glorious past" kingdoms of David and Solomon which no archeologists can find any traces of in the last 100 years of seriously looking for such. Besides the phony "deed" to the land of Canaan given by a Hindu Vedic god disguised as a "Hebrew" progenitor, now there is Salida's theory which Saudi Arabia took so seriously they had several ancient village sites demolished and no archeologists are allowed to investigate the oddly coincidental ancient locations of Old Testament biblical places in Saudi Arabia and not Palestine. I can show a clear Iranian Brahmin ideological trail that starts in N. India through Iran all the way to Egypt and Saudi Arabia following the Iranian Brahmin sun god Surya and their asuras, the root name for Syria, Assyria, Asher, Asar/Asir (Osiris in Greek) and Asir in Saudi Arabia, perhaps the real homeland of Jews in Arabia who adopted Brahmin ideology through the lost in translation Vedic god and goddess Brahma and Saraisvati who became "Abraham and Sarah", the mythical founders of the Jewish claim to land never their own. Meanwhile in our times, Palestinians who can trace their ancestry back to the Canaanite confederation are branded "terrorists" for resisting European Jewish invaders, such is the sick logic of Zionism that only exists in our world because white Europeans still rule the world and impose their way on non-European peoples by force of arms.

Billions of dollars were squandered on no bid, cost plus contracts that resulted in staggering waste, mismanagement, and corruption. Americans are left with the bill while the Iraqis deal with a shortage of housing, health care, clean water, food, electricity, functioning schools, and jobs. By the way, thank you for the "history?" lesson on the fact that EVERY society on the planet occupies conquered land. Oh wait a second. I forgot; only Europeans and Jews are guilty of that evil. Have you considered moving to Sumer? On second thought, that area was conquered by Lugalzagesi in 2330 BC and is OCCUPIED nowadays by the Marsh Arabs. Smart bombs and GPS guided bombs. Given that there were so many terrorists in Iraq, might as well use the munitions while they are still well maintained.

And given the military incompetence of the Left and how they tend to distort figures to advance a political agenda (as in lying and making stories up), I don't really place too much trust on the figures of an anti-Iraq operator.

A million people died between those two wars from privation imposed by US sanctions.

You don't give a damn about US sanctions or what came from them. In case you hadn't noticed, highlighting the US's problems in order to get more political power is not a humanitarian concern.

You don't care about the Russians, the Palestinians, the Vietnamese, or any other non-US nation when it comes to the consequences, intended and unintended, of their national policy. You are only fixated on the US. Why not? After all, that's where your bread gets buttered and that's what you are rewarded for undermining, so why not.

While the Dems are doing everything they can to nominate Obama cabinet members that have evaded their tax payments, they expect good and hard working Americans to pay more taxes.

While the Dems are complaining about the military expenditure, they sabotaged the US economy through Fannie Mae and sub-prime mortgages and then presented themselves as the solution to the problem that they caused.

  47. I support the troops for the purpose that they were intended. John McCain voted to cut health care funding for the troops. I support expanding health care for the troops even when they are misused for the purpose to shock and awe civilians while their laws are rewritten to allow western corporations access to their country's oil fields and nationally owned assets. The war on terror was a war of terror on a terrorized people. The Invasion of Iraq was sold to the American public on the basis of fear of weapons of mass destruction because, as Paul Wolfowitz explained, WMDs were "the one issue that everyone could agree on". The real reason was to destroy Iraq and rebuild it as a free-market democracy.

If you weren't so jacked up on neo-conservative propaganda you would recognize that your death dealing super-heroes are masquerading under a cloak of sham. Iraq has the third largest oil reserves in the world. Those reserves are worth more than the ideal of freedom and democracy to those that covet power. They would rend the flesh of every Iraqi man, woman, and child, and destroy our military to do it and share the spoils with the corporations that helped in the fleecing of the American people.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Well grabbing the oil was just part of the project. It has always been more about building strategic military bases and distribution outlets when it comes to Iraq, and that goes back to arming both sides during the Iran/Iraq War,and supplying Saddam with his chemical and biological weapons, which the US and UN in turn would use as the justification for continued atrocities against the Iraqi's.U.S.contractors supplied Kuwait with the rigs needed to steal Iraq's oil,and U.S. contractors supplied Saddam with the weapons needed to go after Kuwait.Only the neocons like to dismiss the part about the siding with, and arming of Saddam.Saddam gassed the Kurds with U.S/U.N supplied ammo.

Obama has begun discreet talks with Iran, Syria

There is a reason why Israel s voters are suddenly turning to the center-Right Netanyahu and Likud. They fear that for the first time since Harry Truman, an American administration is turning against the Jewish State. Obama s first phone call after the election was made to Mahmoud Abbas. His first television interview was with Al Arabiya. The appointments of Susan Powers and Susan Rice bode ill for the entire Middle East. A meeting with Hugo Chavez -- to negotiate what, exactly? Forthcoming recognition of radical Islamofascist Iran on their terms, not ours, are all ominous straws in the wind. Richard Holbrooke has just infuriated two crucial governments in Pakistan and Afghanistan, by predicting their doom, and still was appointed special envoy to those governments.

The O's just announced a 10% cut for the defense budget, while the overall budget deficit has just risen by two trillion dollars. That may signal a Carteresque drawdown in our burdened military. This is not the time to lower our guard, but like Jimmy Carter, the O administration is betting against history.

We now know that in violation of Federal law, the Obama campaign started negotiations with Iran, Syria and perhaps Hugo Chavez long before American voters elected O. That flagrant disregard for the law and for simple propriety signals a radical turn Left. If that is accurate, expect the Obama administration to start a scapegoating campaign against Binyamin Netanyahu if he becomes Prime Minister. That would be the first time that any American administration has turned against an elected leader of a vigorous, pro-American democratic ally. The voters in Israel may be preparing to go it alone if necessary. It would be difficult, but it can be done....

  74. That's what that org has done, created ruthless dictators who impose insane laws upon the populace they govern, only to be strengthened by the constant threat of pending attacks against that country.

There's a limit to which the BS simply must flow downhill. After electing numerous Democrat Presidents that have alternatively used and hamstrung the CIA, you make the CIA out to be an independent organization free from both Congressional and Executive oversight.

Now, given the CIA's leaks of Bush's classified material for partisan purposes, that has a particular credibility. But it wasn't the CIA that created ruthless dictators.

And if it was the CIA, you would have been talking about the CIA, not Bush. So it is always the CIA when Presidents like Carter are around, and it is always the President's responsibility when Reagan and Bush are in office.

This is not a formula designed to do anything about the CIA. This is a political formula and it is just the kind of BS that flows downhill.

You really do need to understand that this is the 21st century and white supremacy is out of fashion and has to go if America and Americans are going to survive in a multicultural world.

The very fact that you are part of the white faction and that everything you and your allies do, Stephen, maintains the status quo of white noblesse oblige and privilege, puts the lie to that claim of yours.

Of course Chavez is reasonable, Rose. Just like Mugabe had to confiscate white property. Just like Hitler had to get rid of the Jews and steal their stuff. Just like any megalomaniac around who needs an excuse to exercise power without restraint or conscience. They need a pretext and there are plenty of useful idiots here to provide them exactly that.

Both were strongly influenced by corporate and banking interests and both invaded other countries in order to expand those interests and take over the assets of those countries. Chavez, on the other hand, has been a consistent advocate for his people by rewriting the contractual terms that his predecessors had negotiated with the multinational oil companies that were ruinous to his countries well being. Just what you would expect from the leader of a country that puts his peoples' interests ahead of his own.

That is why we are so often asked for help.

  88. Hey, Miss American Pie, you are full of it. Read some real history:

When L. Paul Bremer III arrived in Iraq to fulfill his role as Washington's economic czar he took residence in Saddam's turquoise-domed Republican Palace where he received trade and investment laws by e-mail from the Department of Defense - printed them out, signed and imposed them by fiat on the Iraqi people.

Before the invasion, Iraq's economy had been anchored by its national oil company and by 200 state owned companies, which produced the staples of the Iraqi diet and the raw materials of its industry. Soon after he arrived, Bremer announced that the two hundred firms were going to be privatized immediately.

Next he enacted new economic laws to entice foreign investors to take part in the privatization auction and to build new factories and retail outlets in Iraq. One law lowered Iraq's corporate tax rate from roughly 45 percent to a flat 15 percent. Another law allowed foreign companies to own 100 percent of Iraqi assets. Even better, investors could take 100 percent of the profits they made in Iraq out of the country. Another law made it possible for investors to sign leases and contracts that would last for forty years and then be eligible for renewal - saddling future elected governments with deals signed by their occupiers. One area which Washington left intact was Iraq's national oil company and untapped reserves - choosing to control them by fiat through Iraq's American controlled government. But the occupation authority did take possession of $20 billion worth of revenues from Iraq's national oil company, to spend as it wished.

Iraq did not ask for our help. Our government went to Iraq to help itself. You must be deaf, dumb, and blind, girl. Or just dumb.

  91. Stephen: The CIA did assassinate Allende

Those who consider the democratically elected Allende a victim of the US and CIA have examined the historical record in a very superficial manner. Three weeks before the coup, the also democratically elected House of Deputies passed by 81-47 a resolution titled the “Declaration of the Breakdown of Chile’s Democracy.” An excerpt follows.

    "5. That it is a fact that the current government of the Republic, from the beginning, has sought to conquer absolute power with the obvious purpose of subjecting all citizens to the strictest political and economic control by the state and, in this manner, fulfilling the goal of establishing a totalitarian system: the absolute opposite of the representative democracy established by the Constitution;
    6. That to achieve this end, the administration has committed not isolated violations of the Constitution and the laws of the land, rather it has made such violations a permanent system of conduct, to such an extreme that it systematically ignores and breaches the proper role of the other branches of government…"

In general and in specific, the resolution could be interpreted as an invitation to a coup. Allende himself called it such. The democratically elected members of the House of Deputies would not have passed such a strongly-worded resolution by a commanding 63- 37% majority if their constituents, the Chilean people, were not also disgusted with the Allende government’s repeated violations of law and democratic procedure.

When the democratically elected House of Deputies passed by a commanding majority a resolution that states that President Allende has repeatedly violated the tenets of democracy, such as following the laws and Constitution that were democratically voted on, that doesn’t say much about the democratic bonafides of President Allende, doesn’t it?

  92. As in most cases Stephen is full of shit.

Salvador Allende did not commit suicide, nor died under the bullets of the military coup participants the 11th, September, 1973. During the assault against La Moneda palace, the president of Chile was cowardly assassinated by one of the Cuban agents who were in charge of their protection. While the military was bombing the place, the panic had seized among the president´s collaborators and he, in view of the desperate situation, had requested and obtained brief fire ceases and was, in the end, determined to stop all resistance. According to a witness of the facts, Allende, frightened by terror, ran by the corridors of the second floor of the palace shouting: "It is necessary to surrender". Before he could do it, Patricio de la Guardia, an agent of Fidel Castro and direct responsible of Chilean president´s security, waited Allende returned to his writing-desk and it shot him in the head with a machine-gun burst. Immediately, he put on the body of Allende a gun - making believe that he was murdered by the military attackers and returned in a rush to first floor of the flaming building where they waited for other Cubans to leave. The group left La Moneda palace in complete silence and after minutes took refuge in Cuba´s embassy, located near from the palace.

Pinochet was acting under authority of the Chilean Congress resolution of 23 August 1973.

    ReplyDelete
  93. In the years leading up to the coup, U.S. trainers, many from the CIA, had whipped the Chilean military into an anti-Communist frenzy, persuading them that socialists were de facto Russian spies, a force alien to Chilean society - a homegrown "enemy within." In fact it was the military that had become the true domestic enemy, ready to turn weapons on the population it was sworn to protect.

In the days that followed the coup, roughly 13,000 civilians were arrested and imprisoned, according to a declassified CIA report. Hundreds were tortured and executed. Lifeless bodies started showing up on the side of major highways and floating in urban canals.

-Allende was found with his head blown apart. Debates continue over whether he was shot by one of the bullets fired into La Moneda or he shot himself rather than give Chileans the lasting image of their elected president surrendering to an insurectionary army. The second theory is more credible.

The purpose of whipping the Chilean military into an anticommunist frenzy had an intended outcome - the overthrow of the popularly elected president. The arrests, torture, and murder committed by the junta were of people that the CIA had identified as leftists picked from lists the CIA provided to General Pinochet.

  94. Here's your tolerant Iranians; “They don’t want to leave a trace of anything Baha’i” ...Some fear the oppression of a little-known religious minority in Iran is intensifying

Naeim Tavakkoli last saw his father Behrouz three years ago in Tehran’s infamous Evin prison. Behrouz, a leader in among the 300,000 Iranians who follow the Baha’i religion, had failed to come home weeks earlier. Naeim, his mother, and brother searched hospitals and police stations but found no trace. Finally they were told Behrouz had been arrested by the Intelligence Ministry and were allowed to see him.

The three of them sat across from Behrouz on a small bench in a tiny room with two government agents standing behind them, watching and listening. “My father was slim, pale, with a long beard. They didn’t let him shave,” Naeim said in an interview with Maclean’s. “He was limping, wearing a jail uniform, not quite clean. Pajamas, basically.”

Naeim told his father he was moving to Canada, and his father wished him well. A few months later, Behrouz was released but Naeim was already in Ottawa, where he now lives. Behrouz later heard from his mother that his father had been forced to sit on a stool for 24 hours at a time and sleep on concrete. He developed kidney problems. But he was free, at least for a while.

Last May, Behrouz was arrested again. Security agents came at six o’clock in the morning. Naeim’s mother asked for time to pack her husband some warm clothes but was told he wouldn’t live long enough to need them.

Behrouz has been in jail ever since, part of an escalating crackdown on a religious minority that few outside Iran know much about....

...Naeim says the Iranian government, which effectively controls the media and uses it to whip up hatred, drives much of the anti-Baha’i hostility. “The people are good,” he says. But he also recalls that as a boy religious teachers in his school would tell other students that Baha’i were unclean, and he would sit on the floor with his fellow students afraid to come too close lest they accidentally brush against him. When he had the opportunity to come to Canada he seized it, joining the thousands of Iranian Baha’i who have immigrated here.

He knows that the Baha’i have been persecuted since their religion was founded–and his father has been arrested before as well. But he fears that the oppression of Baha’i in Iran is reaching a new intensity. He worries about the wave of arrests, the destruction of cemeteries, as if a people’s history itself can be erased. “We don’t know what’s going to happen next,” he says. “They don’t want to leave a trace of anything Baha’i.”...

  95. Rose, on my blog I've put two reports of how the natives who have to live under white supremist rulership have failed to win these people's hearts and minds. Why is that, Rose? Why do these native peoples continue to feel oppressed by their white European benefactors who, unlike these backward and savage indigenous peoples, developed the land and made civilization? How come they still feel resentment after all these decades of beneficial civilization given to them as their reward for lying down and behaving like good children?

Oh, they aren't good children you say? They are savages still and put them down like dogs if they get uppity like those ungrateful Palestinians and Arab Israelis, and oh yes, that Armadi Iranian guy who dares to want to have the same national defense as Israel has, as Pakistan has, as India has, i.e. it's neighboring nations? Oh, they're terrible savages, I keep forgetting, and we're the good guys who only torture and kill darker-skinned peoples by the tens of thousands with modern weapons instead messing around with a few beheadings and suicide bombs because we're civilized and they're not.

If for once the U.S. showed real concern for Muslim peoples instead of continually nurturing the U.S. Zionist colony of Israel, perhaps then, Rose, we could begin a real dialogue with Muslims instead of this war situation wherein Muslims feel justifiably paranoid of Western power plays to destabilize their nations and the whole Middle East region. America's support for Israel is why Islamic hardliners hold control of Muslims in Muslim majority nations. Israel is considered a cancer by the Muslim world, a cancer placed in their midst to bring white Europeans into the Middle East to control Muslim Middle East nations and the whole Middle East region, replacing indigenous control with Israel as the main Middle East power. (Israel has the world's 5th largest army-pretty amazing for such a tiny country and would never happen without American tax monies)

I am an American and proud of my country..when it behaves like America should which is not being a bully to the world and foisting America's greediest bad actors onto indigenous peoples and their lands in order to take control of their natural resources.

  96. This would be my advice. Much of what you are talking about, bad as it was under our current prism, was reality for those times. EVERY single nation, every continent had its experience with conquest. From the beginning of time, one tribe and another, then one nation and another.

If we all sat around pissing in our beer about the times the Vikings came through, or Napolean, or Genghis Khan, or the pirates of old, where would we be?

It seems the only ones being dredged up are the ones where there's weakness (meaning US), or money to be had.

For Christ's sake, assimilate. This notion of living on reservations, since you bring up native Americans, is repulsive. Get out and live in THIS COUNTRY, Stephen Might as well enjoy it while it lasts. Conditions are better than mankind has ever seen.

That doesn't mean forget the past, certainly not. But - this current wave of anti-semitism is doing just that, and encouraging those who would launch another holocaust, and whose aim is to eliminate an entire group of people. Why? Because they are Jewish.

But truthfully, that would not be the end, for they have also sworn to kill anyone who supports those people.

This is not Zionist propaganda, Stephen. Those are their own words, spoken and written.

You can't go back to the first time one group of cavemen went and took over another group's camp and claimed it as their own. And you shouldn't pretend that Native Americans, and Palestinians are the only ones who have ever suffered.

    Catering to that is dangerous.

  98. And, by the way - have we taken one drop of Iraqi oil? No. Are we helping them set up their oil fields? Yes. And we are helping build schools, and waterlines, and libraries. Nicholas Berg was there helping restore communications lines.

Presumably, they will use that asset to help rebuild their nation. We will buy it from them just as we buy form other countries.

If it were up to me it would be set up as an asset owned by all the people, similar to Alaska, and similar to the way the tribes set up casinos - and all would share in the revenues. If they are smart. We'll see what happens.

  99. Anon 9:54 PM,
If you had taken the time to read the confirmed eyewitness accounts of the events of the 11 Sept 1973 Chilean Air Force attack on the Moneda Palace here you might be hesitant (though I doubt it) to spout the prevailing "official" Castro talking points so favored by the leftist media. In any event, you and the other collectivist/leftists as well as the psychotic (redundancy alert) Stephen will continue to cling to the delusion that the "omnipotent" CIA, Zionists and capitalists are responsible for all the worlds ills.
Good luck with that now that the bumbling politicized CIA has been placed under the thumb of a clintonista political hack. So much for "hope and change".

    ReplyDelete
  100. That Castro! He as been out maneuvering American Presidents, and the CIA as well as our combined intelligence community since 1959. Gawd! What we could have accomplished as a nation under his leadership. He is the worlds most brilliant tactician. Operating from his tiny island nation that lies just 90 miles off our coast and under trade sanctions imposed by the most powerful nation the world has ever known, Castro has operated with impunity! Hail Castro! Hell Yes!

Maybe you should change your name name to Humboldt Moron you goof ball.

  101. Yeah Rose, we bombed them back into the stone age twice in twelve years, then we occupied their country and rewrote their constitution. And then we outsourced reconstruction and labor. And then they got pissed for no good reason and started shooting at us - dumb Arabs. But for the goodness of the American people and their work ethic and their desire to share their way of life by spreading democracy around the world, those Poor Iraqi's would never have known the joy that comes to those that wait for purple finger democracy.

  105. I don't even know where you guys get the tangents you go off on. Mresquan, where did I ever say we should model our system on the rest of the world? Quite the opposite.

IF, for example, the melting pot concept, which works here, was adopted by the Palestinians, they could live in peace, stop wasting their resources on bombs, begin to build and create - something, anything, cars? space ships? something. Imagine if they adopted the concepts of freedom of religion, freedom of speech, imagine if they began to VALUE the lives of their teenage boys, and stopped putting women and children up as targets and shields. It's so little to ask.

You guys are defending the most intolerant regimes in the world. WHY?

    ReplyDelete
  106. Because they are imposed on indigenous people's without their consent, Rose. Remember democracy? Remember international rule of law? Or what happened to Hitler and the Japanese and then the Commies when they went off taking over other people's countries? Rose, you really have to get out of the Manifest Destiny ideology you're clinging to as if it held morals for today's world. That was then-this is now and now indigenous peoples when they are in the majority do not like it when Europeans come knocking at their doors with plans to take them over. Zionists just picked the wrong century to try the old European conquest of a Third World country. Palestinians are just like Vietnamese and they will eventually throw out their European colonial imperialists despite all odds against them.

Rose, if you really want to end anti-Semitism, you and Zionist Jews have to stop attacking Semitic peoples and stop calling those who defend Semitic peoples, "anti-Semites". You only add to Zionist lack of credibility, e.g. their Jewish holocaust claims which if you read my blog are exposed as completely bogus by Jewish records yet the lie is being used again and again as the main tool to blackmail Europeans, America, and world into supporting Zionists and their colonial project of Israel.

  107. Castro has led a charmed life. He has survived numerous assassination attempts ( like Hitler who escaped death by inches or minutes many times). 109. Palestine the melting pot of the Middle East? This is an example of Rose thinking outside of the box. OK, I get it - Iraq is the melting pot of the Middle East because of its diverse population of Kurds, Moslems, Christians, Americans, British, Polish...

    ReplyDelete
  110. No. I did not say it WAS the melting pot. I said IF they could adopt THAT CONCEPT. As in, if they could accept that they can all live side by side, each practicing their own religion, but all united in common goals that supported free speech, freedoms like we enjoy, the freedom to work, buy a house, plant a garden, raise their chickens, side by side, neighbor and neighbor, they would not be needing fenced off areas... It works. We are living proof, that even people with opinions as diverse as ours, we live in peace. I'm not, and you're not, preparing to launch a rocket into a neighboring town. Come back and give us more data after you have visited Cuba's ordinary citizens without a Communist "guide". By the way, take your own toilet paper with you on your "tour". 115. "You guys are defending the most intolerant regimes in the world. WHY?"

Not defending them at all.Just criticizing what allowed them to amass that power in the first place.Interesting that you brought up space ships in your rants,as one reason Iran wants nuclear energy is to expand their space program(a claim was made the other day that they launched a spaceship),yet you'd prefer to deny them that, and advocate going to war with them because of their desire to continue to develop nuclear technology. So for those like you Iran is caught in a catch 22,where on accounts they can do no right.

In 1980 another large contingent, made up of people who wished for more personal freedoms and less poverty. Many simply defected once in a free country. Cuba has been an economic mess for decades and was recently pulled from the mire by that other revolutionary man of the people, Hugo Chavez.

But it's ok when it's done in the soccer stadium we built for the Taliban to occupy and kill people, the Taliban that we set up?

Rose, I do think you need to do some real research about how America really goes about "bringing democracy" to countries that conveniently seem to control strategic resources America wants. You think liberal democracy idealism is a reality brought by the U.S. interference in other people's nations when it isn't at all and will be quickly scotched if "democracy" means the targeted people decide not to endorse the politics of economic exploitation by American corporate interests.

Rose, I have worked for years with members of our indigenous population and if you believe they are all quite happy and content with what Europeans have brought to them to lift them out of their non-industrialized lifestyles, you are crazy. And these natives have had over 150 years experience with the wonderful benefits of "civilized" life, European style. Pals have had 60 years experience of it and they're not going for it.
You need to keep the truth in mind that you are part and parcel of the problem they see coming at them from the continent of Europe and white people. Until your own act is cleaned up, no white people can really tell the rest of the world how to behave. They just don't have the moral history to back it up with history as foreign invaders still fresh in their minds.

Those who only looked at it from a Western perspective, rather than a cultural anthropological perspective, would have likely answered in the negative to that question.

Don't worry ignorant one. No need for a link. It's first hand data. As for North Korea, our inlaws are from there and are pleased to no longer be making soup from tree bark.

    ReplyDelete
  123. So you can explain why most Cubans don't have toilet paper and why other countries honor the U.S. embargo. Amazing how one aged Latin American boogieman is blamed for his country's poverty and gets branded as ruthless while we still operate Gitmo prison where inmates have been tortured by Americans. While you're at it, entertain me with some gratuitous slander for America's other Latin American boogieman, Hugo Chavez. Import me some fear and hatred - I know you can do it.

  124. Cuba only has one major export commodity. Lacking other resources it has been pretty easy to isolate that country with trade policies that have driven the price of sugar down. Cuba has been the useful stooge for Anti-socialist, anti communist propaganda while its people have suffered enormously from American imposed isolation.

  126. 9:53: PM: "So you can explain why most Cubans don't have toilet paper and why other countries honor the U.S. embargo."

Toilet paper is an imported commodity that requires foreign exchange (hard currency). I am aware of no other nation that "honors" the US trade embargo. Canada, Spain and the EU trade with Cuba and have been stiffed by the regime. Cuba's hard currency is limited and therefor those imported products are reserved for the power elite (upper class/communist party apparatchiks) who are planning the Cuban economy. They have other priorities than investing in paper manufacturing. Castro is no "boogieman". He has hung his hat on a planned economy that was for years subsidized by the Soviet Union to the tune of an annual payment of +-$700.00 per annum for every Cuban citizen. In other words he profited from the "cold war" which has ended.

"...entertain me with some gratuitous slander for...Hugo Chavez...Import me some fear and hatred..."

I have not visited Venezuela since Chávez' presidency and therefore cannot provide eyewitness data. Prior to that it was a prosperous country with a large middle class. Since the nationalization of many businesses, my contacts there advise of sporadic food shortages and increased crime as well as political corruption. With the diving price of oil, things have worsened substantially. Sorry, I have no hatred; it's just that socialism has a very poor success record and requires mostly force to remain in place. Like Cuba the reliance on one export commodity bodes ill for any socialist society as it cannot attract foreign investment capital.

    ReplyDelete
  127. For that eyewitness view, you can follow Daniel in Venezuela. The blog is linked in the sidebar. All of the things ΛΕΟΝΙΔΑΣ describes and more.

  129. Reaction to capitalist exploitation is what produces Communists just like reaction to foreign Zionist aggression produces militant Muslims. But this truth is always overlooked by conservative simpletons living in a black and white, rich and poor world where those who have fight to retain their loot against the poor people they've taken it from. The takers always want to blame those who stand up and fight against their theft of a nation's wealth.

    ReplyDelete
  130. "Capitalist" exploitation?

    Stephen, this is crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Stephen wants all "brown people" to live in mud huts and wear loin cloths which they would be/are doing without foreign investment. Socialist nations are short on such "exploitation" except for providing AK-47s.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Facts are facts. Capitalist Western European nationals went all over the world looking for new regions to exploit for their resources. Europeans set up colonies all over the world to do this exploitation. In Canada, the U.S.A., Australia and New Zealand, European colonials managed to overwhelm the indigenous populations to set up European immigrant controlled societies in these non-European lands and it's been that way ever since the 1400's until the 20th Century saw the natives rebellion successful in Africa and other places where the native majority population wasn't overturned by European immigration. Israel is the big sore thumb in the Middle East that represents this primitive European racist mindset that sees European white people as bringers of "civilization" to darker-skinned peoples. But Israel is in the same boat as white South Afrikaaners and white Rhodesians were before the natives took back their countries from foreign European rulership.

It's really too bad some Americans do not know their colonial history very well, either that or they just ignore choosing to believe the melting pot fantasy wherein every ethnic group has equal say in the running of their countries. History disputes this as the struggles of minority groups to achieve some semblance of balance of power shows those with eyes to see. Obama was a surprise victory for people of color and yet some of you don't even realize the positive signal this gave to the world's non-European peoples. It gave them hope for their own futures. Let's try to see that their hopes are fulfilled instead of defending past American imperialism laced with racial inequality.

  135. Double standard, the usual conservative modus operandi where the victims of corporate greed are punished for being bamboozled time and again with bailouts for the fat cats and crumbs for the ever-growing proportion of have-nots that the corporate capitalist system produces in order to create wealth for the fat cat haves in their socially dysfunctional economic system that only keeps alive through periodic infusions of everyone not rich enough to hire corporate loophole lawyers.

You want a socially functional economic system you need to start seriously investing in local community self-sufficiency projects that can be not only used to get Humboldt County off the corporate grid which is unstable but also will provide a salable product to other communities which will be increasingly turning to local community self-sufficiency. Local production for local consumption using local renewable resources and energy has always been the most efficient economic system around. It's the Communitarian Capitalist solution that will save our asses when Wall Street and the rest of the U.S. economy tanks due to everyone running on credit they can't pay without jobs.

UN to probe Hamas for use of children

We'll see. Will they whitewash this one, or not.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Will they whitewash IDF use of white phosphorus too, Rose, I wonder? Or how about those Catapiller bulldozers specially built to raze Palestinian homes, sometimes with Palestinian children still inside, wonder if the U.N. cares about those people..

The foreign invaders complain about the native population resisting their invasion and occupation and because the foreign invaders are Europeans for the most part, they get a pass from European Americans, anything goes for the good white people as long as it's huge and high tech military killing. It's those awful primitive savage Arabic-speaking Muslim Palestinians with their feeble weapons of desparation who are terrible terrorists, right Rose? I mean, they just don't stack up the proper body counts as the IDF does armed as it is with America's might where IDF weaponry kills 5 or 6 Pals including children to every Israeli death. Now that's honorable defense of a nation, a nation foisted on Palestinians by the European and American controlled U.N. that can't move a muscle without the Big Five's OK since Middle East oil preserves must at all costs be protected from native Middle East Arab Muslim savages, the ones not on the Saudi royals' payroll..

  142. The U.N. should be strengthened by giving it teeth to enforce U.N. resolutions because without an international rule of law, aggressive nations do not stop their aggression against other nations or ethnic groups or endangered species.

Right now we have the Wild West running the world with Wild West "rules" in effect that continue to exacerbate the political conflicts between haves and have not nations and between religious groups. Zionism and Israel for example exist only because Western nations have allowed Zionist Jews to control their money systems, e.g. the U.S. Fed Reserve Banks, e.g. the inability of presidents to select non-Jewish Americans for chief financial advisers.

Without rule of international law we will never be able to have world peace but the U.N. has to shed its dependency on the major powers so that true international democracy rules this body instead of what we have seen from the U.N. for since its inception.

    ReplyDelete
  143. To see how we all suffer from lack of international law enforcement one has only to research the shark fin industry's impact on the world's sea food chain ecology. Right now, only the Sea Shepard boat with determined activists is doing anything really to stop illegal whaling and shark fishing because while there are laws against illegal whaling and shark fishing, there's no enforcement and aggressive fishermen are busy destroying the whole food chain by over-killing sharks who control most all sea life ecology systems as predators.

  144. Facts are facts. Capitalist Western European nationals went all over the world looking for new regions to exploit for their resources.

So does China, right now, but I don't heard you saying about the subject. Got higher priorities, eh? Or maybe it is just more profitable, among your social circle, to be against the US, rather than face execution in China, which still has one of the highest capital punishment rates around.

So which propaganda line are you going to invest in, the former or the latter?

    ReplyDelete
  147. Oh, I don't use your biased yardstick, Ymar, I just go by body count to make my judgments about U.S. government policies. You know, the thousands of dead bodies of the people we've blown to pieces in our little ultra expensive adventures in other people's lands in order to be top dogs in the world. America won't be top dog in my grandkid's world and it's time for neanderthal gingoistic thinking to realize that fact. Hate America is not funny anymore for those of us concerned about our future. We want to end the reasons why so many peoples are angry at Americans messing with their nations one way or another.

    ReplyDelete
  148. What do you make of Saddam's invasion of neighboring countries, Stephen? Or of Iran's stated intent to obliterate Israel and all who support them? Or of mass graves in Iraq? The records of torture found in Iraq? Forced conscription?

All evidence to the contrary, you see us as the great evil and wish for us to be taken down.

Be careful. You might get what you ask for. Then locking your door at night will not protect you from the global nightmare that will ensue.

We are the good guys, Stephen. For all our faults, we are the good guys.

    ReplyDelete
  149. No, Rose, you are blind to reality of America's reputation in the world since Vietnam. We USED to be known as the good guys but now we're known as the Big Bully who supports those nations that supply the Big Bully's corporations with oil and resources and attacks those nations which resist the Big Bully's power grab done at the expense of those same nations that we exploit.

You don't understand, Rose, that America needs to do a lot of house cleaning to overcome our present image as an enemy to native peoples struggles for self-determination. When we reestablish a reputation for helping the underdogs instead of the fat cats at the top then you can be proud again as an American, but you cannot be proud now, Rose. Try walking the streets of Belin in the West Bank some day as a proud American and see how friendly the natives are. Or the streets of Iraq or in any Muslim nation in the world as a proud Christian American. Muslims represent over a billion people on earth, Rose. Does that ever compute in your mind as a significant figure? I don't think so because if it did you'd change your tune about bashing Islam and Muslims everywhere you can on your blog, forgetting all about your own religion's abominable past history dealing with non-Europeans which isn't very far in the past at all.

Because you don't know Islam you really fall for Israel's line of bullshit about Iran going to nuke them into oblivion. Islam forbids such taking of innocent lives on a mass scale and really, all the Pals and Syrians and Lebanese and Saudis and Egyptians downwind of Israel would not be happy with Iran's Muslims or didn't you think of that? No, you did not. You fell like most Americans for Israel's propaganda. Israel has the nukes, Rose, and if any nation in the Middle East is a danger as far as using nukes, it is Israel which has already stated it would use them regardless of suicidal consequences to Israeli citizens. Now that is farooking religious madness talking and you don't bat an eye at it because it's Israel, and they get a free pass on morality.

What is it with you, Rose, about Israel and Palestinians? Is it a property rights issue for you? That because Israel claims to "own" their land they have a right to it that supersedes the human rights and sovereignty rights of the native population?

I'm still waiting for you to start using common sense in your assessments of political issues with non-European peoples. You want to make sure Muslims don't continue to be at war with the Christian West you must make sure we act like Christians and not Mammonists, not worshipers of the almighty dollar as most Muslims rightly believe Americans to be.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Stephen, what you fail to realize is that, not matter what your circumstances, YOU are viewed as part of that wealthy American class by those who choose to hate this country. They don't care about you, and that your opinions side with them - to them that just makes you weak and a traitor to your own people, to be used, but not trusted. No special favors will be granted should that worst case scenario you seem to wish for come about.

You also choose the BIG slam against "evil capitalism" and ignore that what it is at its root is trade, it is the woman who makes the baskets and sells her wares at the county fairs, rents a storefront, builds a reputation and a customer base, and expands as much as she is willing to risk success. Some make it bigger than others, and become what you rail against.

But they are the engine that provides everything you take for granted. When they are fail, as they are poised on the edge of doing, we all lose.

It's amazing that we are seeing it happen in so short a time, but even more amazing that ANYONE would cheer about it.

    ReplyDelete
  151. And, btw, Stephen, what contributes to our "reputation" as a bully is our own ability to criticize ourselves - the other nations don't necessarily understand that, but they're sure happy to take you at your word.

Nevertheless, when they experience a disaster - a hurricane, a tsunami, a flood, we are there with an outpouring of help.

And we ask nothing in return.

    Maybe we should.

    ReplyDelete
  152. In Sri Lanka our outpouring of help pushed native family fishermen off the beaches where they had lived for generations. After the tsunami of 12-26-04, the popularly elected government caved to the demands of the World Bank to qualify for reconstruction loans and built resorts for people who could afford $1500 to $2500 per night room fees.

Capitalism is evil when developing economies are captured and restructured and governments are hollowed out upon defaulting on World Bank and IMF loans. Those governments' assets are auctioned to the multinationals and unemployment jumps to 45 percent. This has happened in dozens of countries over the past 30 years including Russia When it was urged to restructure its economy in order to get a loan. Hundreds of thousands died and billionaires were made at the same time - mostly American. And Cuba was made more isolated when Russia was no longer able to support it through trade and hard currency. But even though Cuban people were starving, George Bush changed the law so that Cuban Americans could send only $3 hundred per year to their Cuban relatives - down from $3 thousand.

Some of them have been recruited from Chile where they had worked in Pinochet's police force torturing and disappearing everyone with ties to liberalism and unions.
