Not so good in da Nabahood!

☛TS Editorial Not a good fit
Nabahood Community Development Inc.'s proposal to transform the small town of Bridgeville into a homeless rehabilitation center for 200 clients is simply not a good fit.

Even if the organization was able to jump all the hurdles needed to make the center a reality, it would first and foremost mean the destruction of the small, close-knit community that already exists there. While we can appreciate the healing opportunities such a setting would provide for those the project aims to help, where would they go from there?

Bridgeville's been a bouncing ball since it first appeared for sale on ebay. And granting that the $1.3 million asking price is the cheap part, IMAGINE how much fun it would be to buy it and fix it up, and turn it into something picture postcard perfect!

What would you do if you owned Bridgeville?

  1. Try and turn in into Libertopia, whatever that would end up being.

  3. Cottages, white picket fences, a town square type city park. A spa.

What's there now? A post office? A gas station? A fire house?

    Any amenities?

  4. How about a rehabilitation/training camp for displaced journalists.

  5. I like it, Nate.

Too bad there's no hot spring, we could make an indoor pool.

  6. We could make a new SERE camp there and send in those at GitMo, which will be closing soon. That way, we can waterboard All the perps and it would be no less than what SERE does to any American that wishes to graduate from its training course.

Isn't it about time that we treated our enemies with the same rights and opportunities as we treat our own citizens, Rose?

  7. Turn it into a destination fishing resort! Oh Damn, that's right, the department of fish and feathers says you can't keep fish on the Van Duzen River... and, oh yeah, they also agreed not to stock fish in locations that have significant numbers of tadpoles and toads so it probably wouldn't work anyway.
