Jesse Jackson on Obama
Daily Kos is freaking out that FOX has the tape.
h/t: gatewaypundit
CNN says comment 'too crude' to broadcast, Apparently related to cutting off genitalia,
Jesse whispers: "I wanna cut his nuts off." and CNN won't say it?
For any harm or hurt that this hot mic private conversation may have caused, I apologize....
Hot mic private conversation? You mean if you knew the mike was on you wouldn't have said it? In other words you are sorry you got caught. Not that you said it. And CNN plays THAT. Let the spin begin. (Kinda hard when it is on tape.)

This is pretty damn funny.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I wonder if Jackson did that deliberately. It's going to help Obama with white voters who like to hear lectures to the black community about family. Makes him look even more moderate.
ReplyDeleteAnd it gets Jackson back into the headlines for the first time in years. Win-win.
I'm sure that's the spin that will emerge, and I could almost fall for it except for Jesse Jackson's tortured attempt at an apology. And past incidents.
ReplyDeleteObama was supposed to transcend race. But he didn't, and doesn't - his church preaches hatred of whites, and he was all for it while it helped him get up the ladder. "Whites" were ready to embrace him and shed the racist past, but, funny thing, it isn't just whites who are racist.
But - Obama's not black enough, Lieberman is not Democrat enough, McCain is not Republican enough...
What a sorry mess.
And that's the whole point. He doesn't have to distance himself from Jackson now. Jackson's distanced himself from Obama. And Obama can be magnanimous and not lose a single black vote over it, while his "pro-family" lectures at the black community get played up.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's deliberate, but it's going to benefit Obama.
And think about it. Jackson's already made a similar mistake, back when he spoke "privately" to a reporter in the "hymietown" reference. Did he really think Fox would protect his privacy?
I think Obama's laughing this one all the way to the bank.
And meanwhile, Jackson is setting himself up for 4 to 8 years in the role heading up the loyal opposition within the black community. He'll take some flack, and make his apologies, but he always takes flack.
ReplyDeleteAnd all with Fox News' help!
I mean, it's too brilliant to be accidental.
It appears that I'm not the only one thinking this way, at least in terms of who benefits.
ReplyDeleteFrom the article:
Rather than listen to Washington talking heads explain our town's politics, I called a friend, a prominent African-American activist of the far left persuasion. He considers me his token conservative buddy.
"All I want to know," he said, "is how much David Axelrod paid Jesse to say that @#$%! [rhymes with "it"].
Howard Fineman also thinks Obama will benefit.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Financial Times.
ReplyDeleteAnd even the National Review.
ReplyDeleteEric - and I am really trying to be kind. GO HOME!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to. But I've got too much work to do, and this is a fun distraction.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Eric! But I don't see what's wrong with Jackson just fessing up and saying hell yes I meant it!
ReplyDeleteRose your mind is like a Chinese puzzle. If somebody could figure out how to get your two marbles to fall into place...
ReplyDeleteEric give her a spin. Maybe centrifugal force is the answer.
Well, has he denied he meant it? I know he's apologized for the words he chose, but I don't know that he's backed off the criticism, which is a common debate among black community leaders.
ReplyDeleteHell, if anything I'd like Jackson a little better if it was spontaneous. I never feel like he's playing the genuine person, but a comment like that gives him the appearance of being like everybody else for a moment.
Unfortunately, I suspect he may have chosen the language knowing that it would draw the attention.
My high school physics teacher told me that there's no such thing as centrifugal force, only centripetal force.
ReplyDeleteEric, please stop goading Rose into newer and more wild conspiracies! She already believes the homeless are dressing up as police and beating up other homeless people! Before you know it Rose will connect her Nancy Drew Mystery Novels beyond the DA's office and into the national scene!
ReplyDeleteI looked it up, Eric. I hope you don't ever have to use that argument in court.
ReplyDeleteCentripetal force is the force that powers a centrifuge. Centrifugal force that overcomes gravity. Think axis, string, stone.
ReplyDeleteMy punishment for interrupting your conversation was to learn something.
Well, Wikipedia says my physics teacher was right.
ReplyDeleteIn classical mechanics, centrifugal force (from Latin centrum "center" and fugere "to flee") is an apparent force acting outward from the axis of rotation of a rotating reference frame.[1][2]
A centrifugal force is a particular kind of fictitious force[3][4] (also known as a pseudo force, inertial force or d'Alembert force), that exists for observers in a rotating reference frame.[5][6][7] Unlike real forces such as gravitational or electromagnetic forces, fictitious forces do not originate from physical interactions between objects.
I concede.
ReplyDeleteWell, Wikipedia isn't always right.
ReplyDeleteMy high school biology textbook said that a virus is a form of life, but a biologist I knew swore up and down that a virus doesn't qualify.
Turns out, it's still a debate, I guess more over the criteria than the nature of a virus.
Eric,
ReplyDeleteGo back to your porch climbing career. Centripetal force is the OPPOSITE of centrifugal force. Your high school physics teacher also voted for Carter.
Eric is right on this one, I think. Centrifugal does not exist without centripedal force. Centrifugal force might be classified as an observable resulting action created by centrpedal force. The centripedal force is the force that turns the shaft and the force that powers the observable centrifugal movement.
ReplyDeleteBzzzzzt. Wrong answer. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think he voted for Carter in 76 and Anderson in 80.
My history teacher voted for Barry Commoner in 80.
Oops, that was for 6:17.
ReplyDeleteIs it just that you cannot comprehend that Jesse Jackson could be that stupid? See, I don't have any trouble with that one.
ReplyDeleteHe looked almost drugged in his apology though. What they must have had to threaten him with to get that out of him. Because I think he did mean it.
Chapter 13 summary:
ReplyDeleteNancy Drew and company uncover the devious Mr. G's plot to drug a national black leader to force him to to apologize. Meanwhile back at home the "Clam Diamond" Nancy and crew have been seeking is found inside of the body of supposed rapist Police Chief Gunderson. Nancy and crew must race to Free Gunderson, expose the devious Mr. G, and return the "Clam Diamond" to its rightful owner.
What are you smokin' 7:39? You keep coming on thinking you're saying something funny... but it's not.
ReplyDeleteBut they didn't play the rest of the quote. After he said he wanted to cut them off, he said he wanted to hang them from the rear view mirror of the "Jesse Jackson Poverty Pimp Profiteer Race-Baiting Extortionist Panderer" 1979 Pontiac Hymietown Express.
ReplyDeleteSee, 7:39, THAT is how it's done!
ReplyDeleteTheres nothing funny about your delusions Rose.
ReplyDeleteOh, silly 11:22 - I have no delusions. You're just mad because not only do I not drink the koolaid, but I'm telling you what's in it.
ReplyDeleteI know Rose, the "Clamshell Diamond" is hidden in the koolaid. Yes, very clever plot point.
ReplyDelete"Is it just that you cannot comprehend that Jesse Jackson could be that stupid? See, I don't have any trouble with that one."
ReplyDeleteHeh, nor do a lot of People, Miss Rose. There's a very popular radio talk show down here in So-Cal that plays a weekly call in game entitled...
"What the Hell did Jesse Jackson say?"
Rarely a winner...or as JJ would say, "Where we uhwonnuh"
Oh, and centrigugal/centripetal? I think in more simple terms like fps.
