TS U.S. attorney files complaints for forfeiture against raided properties
The government is seeking the forfeiture of several Southern Humboldt and Mendocino properties which were the subject of federal marijuana raids last week.
U.S. Attorney Joseph Russoniello filed two complaints for forfeiture identifying more than 20 parcels where federal agents reportedly found nearly 80 marijuana gardens and more than 12,000 plants during what they dubbed “Operation Southern Sweep.” ...a total of seven properties, three of which can reportedly be traced to an individual identified as Robert Juan.

The two largest holdings identified in the complaints were listed as reportedly belonging to Juan and Lost Paradise Land Corp. Juan is identified the corporation's president in other documents filed with the county....
A third property identified in the complaint spanned two parcels in Mendocino County where agents reported finding a greenhouse with 164 marijuana plants, in addition to a variety of growing materials and an ATV, according to the complaint.
The complaint lists the alleged property owners as Paul Sayers and Graeson Prescott, who is listed in other county documents as Lost Paradise Land Corp.'s treasurer.
The other complaint cites four Southern Humboldt County properties for forfeiture, all of which were reportedly home to substantially smaller growing operations.
A home on the 1500 block of Briceland Thorn Road in Whitethorn, which the complaint states is allegedly owned by Donovan and Lynne Henry, reportedly had two separate gardens, according to the documents....
...The complaint also states that a home on the 400 block of Par Avenue in Redway is reportedly owned by the Fowler Family Trust. There, agents allegedly found a marijuana garden with almost 150 plants growing under four lights, in addition to 15 pounds of processed marijuana found in a bedroom, according to the complaint.
Juan's name again came up in the fourth complaint, which alleges he co-owns a property in the 3600 block of Miranda's Thomas Road with Alishia Stone. On that property, the complaint states agents allegedly found nearly 140 plants growing in three different structures.
The last property listed in the complaint was in the 400 block of Redway's Eel River Lane, which allegedly contained a green house with about 400 marijuana plants growing under 12 lights, some of which the complaint states were motorized to move back and forth over the plant canopy....

ReplyDeleteSecond, I know you just did it in response to a comment, but there's absolutely no reason to feed the rumor mill by suggesting that Jim Carlson has something to do with this case. None of the agencies listed were involved in the bust. And no, Richard S. does not work for Jim.

ReplyDeleteResidents had reported the Lost Paradise Land Corp. that was targeted is called Buddhaville after its owner, “Buddha” or “Mr. B” — Robert Juan. Reportedly, Juan’s house in Miranda also was raided. (The complaint was served in three locations: a post office box in Whitethorn, an address in Whitethorn and the corporation’s address in Shelter Cove.)
County and state records reveal that the president of Lost Paradise Land Corp. is Robert Juan, 36; Graeson Prescott, 37, of Eureka, is the treasurer, and Brendon Clarke, 46, Loleta, is the secretary. (Clarke is not mentioned in the complaint.) The corporation bought the properties in 2004 from Eddie and Diana Mendes of Fortuna, who bought them from Hawthorne Timber Co. in 2003. (Hawthorne bought them from North American Timber, which bought them from Georgia-Pacific). Sayers, 37, of Whitethorn — named in the complaint as co-owner along with Prescott of one of the properties targeted — is not listed as a corporation officer.

ReplyDeleteSome of you just don't get it. Marijuana growing and selling is a crime. Although many in Humboldt have become numb to it, accepted it, or profit from it, there are many in the US (and California) that see it as wrong, a crime, and not harmless.
ReplyDeleteOur Humboldt County dope growers snivel and whine when they get busted. You hear the same song and dance; go after meth, heroin, rapists or spend the money on the homeless and so on. Now they are saying go after the Mexican growers. Snivel Snivel Snivel.
Humboldt County is so corrupted by the marijuana underground we need federal law enforcment to come in and at least make an attempt to keep it in check.
It's about time.
Concerning the "leak". Maybe people/citizens should call the Red Lion and voice their opinion about one of their employees posting when federal agents will be staying there?
ReplyDeleteWhat about "Heraldo" spreading the rumors? His "reliable source" that said the DEA was going after 300 grow houses in Arcata because of Kevin Hoover. And that PGE was assisting them. What a crock! Heraldo's "source" was just guessing. That is if there really was a source. What about "Hearaldo" doing his best to compromise a law enforcement investigation? What if the FBI was going to be in town for a 10 most wanted fugative? Or for training. Or a terrorist investigation? "Hearaldo" should be outed for the *&&^%$@ jerk that he is. The only plus to this is that Hearldo freaked out all the growers in Arcata and his actions probably resulted in more plants being pulled than the cops did. Joke's on you Heraldo H.
