I think she (8:21) is out of her depth on this one, perhaps she can get the lovely Kay Rackauckas to weigh in again. Or perhaps she can get her other expert, the murderer's mother to stand on the courthouse steps and tell us how it is.
PVG is presumably at the California District Attorney's Association Summer Conference, in Napa. All business, them DA's. Anyway, that's probably a legitimate trip, although I daresay few of the other DAs have already taken as much time off as PVG apparently has this year.
I care and a lot of other people do. This community deserves and answer and not to be blown off. PVG should have skipped the summer conference as it is nothing but a field trip to spend money and lounge around at a posh hotel. And if 8:21 is Sterling-Nichols, then she needs to step out of the "fog" that she clings to and realize that she and her buddies have a hand in putting this county back in the dark ages as it relates to social programs which used to be the darlings of the liberals (which I am btw). They are responsible for this community not getting an answer on the Cheri Moore case and they are responsible for driving out so many good people from Humboldt to other areas because this place is now a hell hole and has a reputation of being corrupt. Just ask the person who was offered the County Counsel Job, but turned it down!
8:21: Looks like the times standard cares, the eureka reporter cares and the northcoast journal cares. Looks like you are just really hoping that this goes away. It won't!
I had to look this one up. wikipedia:In flagrante delicto or sometimes simply in flagrante (Latin: "while [the crime] is blazing") is a legal term used to indicate that a criminal has been caught in the act of committing an offense (compare corpus delicti). The colloquial "caught red-handed" or "caught in the act" are English equivalents.
The Latin term has come to be used far more often as a euphemism for a couple being caught in the act of sexual intercourse; in modern usage the intercourse need not be adulterous or illicit.
Just weighing in: I CARE, TOO! I can't resist asking those other anonymouses, though: where exactly in Napa (city or county) would Paul Gallegos or anyone else go surfing? (-;
Ok Ok, your right, there wouldn't be any surfing in Napa.
Although I rememeber when he was supposed to be at another meeting... or did he call in sick? Anyway he ended up almost dieing while surfing in Trinidad.
No, he never almost ended up dying, that was the Salzman spin.
The surfing in Napa was comment was because Napa is where the meeting is, and unless he's actually doing a bit of wine tasting, he's probably headed due west to the coast where the surf is up.
I know PG is a surfer, for Pete's sake! It's just that, in my neck of the woods, when someone says they're going to Napa the standard response is, "Checking in?"
It's the poor people who have to work under this bozo who need to check in. Can you imagine? Well, you don't have to - staffers tell the reporters, there's no training for the new hires, the staff is doing the training, not the DA. But he takes credit for it on KINS the other day. And that's just for starters...
If he'd kept the highly trained (at county expense) highly competent staff he inherited, he wouldn't have to be claiming credit for the training he's not doing.
Hey, maybe he was training when he went to Ferndale to view the Marsh scene. That went well.
Rose, nobody cares about what you have to say on this anymore.
ReplyDeleteExcept you. Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteHave you come up with a game plan yet? Written his talking points? I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI care, and I daresay the Times-Standard editorial board cares...
ReplyDeleteObviously you care as well, since you see fit to visit this site and comment...

That was the reason for the comment 942.
Where is the use of force policy
ReplyDeleteWhere are the CAST documents
and while we're at it, how about disclosing the salary levels of each DDA?
