12 years. Prison.

  1. Read the article carefully. Yougofree says that the victim and her family are "aware" of the plea agreement. NOT that they approved or are happy with it. Maybe Machado can ask some questions for a change.

  2. And remember yougo dumped the strike and the 12 is really 6, actual time less than 9 years of strike time.

  3. Not only that, but now it is not a strike prior so WHEN he does it again, he won't face the consequences that other appropriately handled sex offenders would.

If yougo spent one quarter the time putting these cases together than he does trying to dump them, maybe then our kids would get a little justice from thos lazy overpaid morons

4:46, your right, he does spend spend more time trying to make things go away.

I swear I want to leave Humboldt but I have lived here my whole life and there has to be something that can be done.

  5. Yes 7:55. I keep hearing the good people saying they are leaving because it has gotten so bad - the DA is asking for assault rifles for God's sake!

Don't leave. Speak Out! Stand up and stand together and we can turn this back around. The wonderful thing about our system is that we can fix it when a mistake has been made.

It will take a while to fix the DAs office, maybe as long as 10 years, to rebuild a qualified team of real prosecutors, to stabilize the damage, repair the rifts with other agencies, but it can be done.

Law Enforcement doesn't trust him. The community doesn't trust him. what can and should be done?

  8. Eric has lost it - have you been over there lately?

  10. It's funny how people here sure like talking shit about people and things they either don't know or really don't have any idea about. Grow the hell up people. Discussion strings are one thing, bitch fests are for old ladies in nursing homes.

  11. If there is something here you find untrue, say what it is.

But when it comes to the DAs Office, and the way DAs offices are supposed to work, there are a good many people who comment here who know a whole lot not only about what is going on, but about why it is so wrong, and what really ought to be happening. So make sure you are telling the truth.

I come here for information & public opinion, 10:45 - the same reasons I read the newspapers. Like most people, I can discern between fact & fiction. If you have something to contribute other than insults & profanity, I wish you would do it. Otherwise, why do you bother reading this blog?

  13. It is my profound belief that, given both sides of the story, people CAN distinguish fact from fiction. And 9 times outta 10 they will make the right choice. Maybe even 10 out of 10. But they don't have a chance when the spin doctors "framing the debate" is all they get.

Good to hear from ya, Robin!
