The ER makes no conclusions, just lays out documents to which the DA refused to comment on after repeated attempts over what it looks like is four days.
Seems to me if you refuse to answer questions, you have something to hide.
I just want to say that I'm no fan of Paul Gallegos, but--Max Cardoza has ALREADY ANSWERED THE QUESTIONS RAISED by the Eureka Reporter's article. http://www.eurekareporter.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?ArticleID=15429
You can't get a more clear or straightforward answer than that. It's time to give put this down and wait for the next Gallegos scandal--there's bound to be a bona fide one just around the bend!
sunnybrae girl is right ...... the next one is just around the corner. Cardoza just did the normal "soft plea", you know "equal justice".
But I do have one question? Is Acosta the loser lawyer that had the ad during the recall claiming to be a prior or former cop and a judge? And he was neither?!?!?!?!
No - there was a tribal judge, though. I have a copy of the ad somewhere, but I don't remember his name. NO judge would ever take a public position on an election.
I haven't been to the Bear River Casino since I found out about the donation. And that was BEFORE all this stuff about Derek. Now I know I will never go back there. I'm sending in my player's club card tomorrow.
And don't forget all the "local" business persons in the parking lot and bathrooms selling all the meth you'll need to keep gambling and get you perked up for your drive home.
Ok, Leonard. You got ten grand you could loan me to play those slots?
Hey, Leonard, is it correct that you can be reached by dailing Sparky's name in the phone book because you Bowmans are in the home allotted to the Brenard family?
And Leonard, do you think it's being a responsible tribal leader to try to discredit tribal leaders who have devoted years on a project to recover thousands of acres of the tribe's lost ancestral land? Isn't that being rather short sighted and showing unconcern for future generations of Bear Rivers tribe members?
I wouldn't give out your Social Security number if you sign up for their player's card - You're not required to. Protect yourself from Identity Theft until you know if there are other people working there with a record like that or not.
A record that "spans two states and 11 years, and includes as many as 40 criminal charges ranging from assault with a deadly weapon as a juvenile to three charges alleging violence against one adult and two juvenile females in 2006."
"According to publicly available court documents, recent charges against Derek (Bowman) included felony statutory rape, five counts of felony check fraud against local businesses, felony burglary, felony threats, felony battery, misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor resisting arrest."
They may be disputing whether or not this was a payoff, but no one is disputing the charges, or his record, or the fact that he is employed there with that record.

Hey Steve, isn't it correct that Sparky spent time in prison? You think that might have something to do with why he lost his home?
Seems Acosta makes it up as he goes along.

Yeah, it's interesting watching the full court press that has been brought to Bear (really, no pun intended.)
ReplyDeleteAcosta wasn't accused of anything. No one criticized him for donating a grand, but whoa! Something stung somewhere.
What are you doing Richard?

ReplyDeleteI noticed that Acosta has a PO box for an address and a cell phone for a business phone number!?
ReplyDeleteAnd there is a six month break, 01/01/2001 to 06/13/2001, on his State Bar association status ?
What's up with that?
But he did go to and graduate from Stanford University. But then again so did Tim Stoen.
