God help the people in the Humboldt County D.A.'s office

Paul Gallegos has fired Worth Dikeman.

God help the people in the D.A.'s office and God help the people of Humboldt County.

  2. With this move, Paul has bought enough rope to hang himself with.

    Let's see what happens.

  3. Ken Miller and Richard Salzman got their way. What can you expect Paulie is in their back pocket. The good people (and the not so good) of Humboldt County will suffer.

How much lower can the DA's office go ? Time will tell, and it will be a short time.

I've known Worth for 20 plus years! I've known Paul Gallegos for more than four years. Gallegos isn't qualified to carry Worth's books.

Shame on the , POS Paul Gallegos.

  4. The amount of damage Paul Gallegos has done to the District Attorney's office is, at this point, almost, if not completely, irreparable.

It will take years to replace and rebuild the team of experienced prosecutors that have been lost, not to mention the support staff that has also been lost.

The important programs Worth talked about during the campaign cannot be rebuilt, especially with the impossible divide Gallegos has created between himself and law enforcement. The essential working relationship does not exist.

In firing Worth, Gallegos has removed the support pin. Worth was the one people went to for advice, the mentor for younger prosecutors, and his unsinkable good humor brightened an otherwise bleak workplace.

That is the word from those who know the inner workings of the DAs office.

  5. Too bad that Worth is leaving on somewhat of a bad note but, that office does not deserve him. Worth has served the county well, Gallegos has not.

What's it down to ? Three of the experienced DDA's left ?

What has Gallegos done about getting civil service status for the DDA's ? Wasn't that one of his campaign promises from the first go around ? Has he done anything in furtherance of that ?

NO he has not, but he sure has gotten his revenge with the AT WILL status of the DDA's. I couldn't blame any of the DDA's to be looking elsewhere for employment. Well with the exception of Scwartz .... he has nothing to fear. Imagine yougofree handling a big case ?

  6. I am glad Worth is leaving but only because this county doesn't deserve him. He continued to care about it though and that showed by his just continuing to put bad guys away (one of the only persons in the office left with the guts to do their jobs) until Paulie got his knickers in a bunch and couldn't deal with the inferiority complex and the fact that there is not one person on his staff that can be in the same room without wanting to heave.

  7. Does anyone who is posting here have any thoughts to offer about the death of Cheri Lyn Moore and how it might affect police-community relations or police-DA relations?

  8. Police community relations ?

I think most of the citizens of Eureka, maybe not Trinidad, Westhaven, or Bayside, still have confidence in the Eureka Police Department. Most of the noise on the Moore shooting came from small but very vocal groups (Ken Miller leading the pack). Some areas of Eureka can be a rough place. As the county seat all the social services (and free meals) are in Eureka. The courts are in Eureka. Many of the persons that commit the bulk of everyday crimes (theft, bruglary, assaults, etc) gravitate to Eureka.

    Police-DA relations?

That's another issue. Paul Gallegos has still not issued his ruling or finding on the Moore shooting. He has all the reports, and has for some time. He (PG)called for and got the coroners inquest. The coroners inquest has been completed with really no new information. And still Gallegos fails to, or refuses to, issue his ruling on the incident. By his actions this continues to cause friction with the Eureka Police Department. There is no closure. It gives the impression PG is holding this over the police, relishing in their discomfort. This and the dismal performance of the DA's office as a whole will continue to strain relations with the police. Police will continue to be pissed off as their cases get dumped or pleaded down to nothing. In short I don't think anything will repair police-DA relations as long as Paul Gallegos is in office. PG chose to make his relationship with law enforcment adversarial, this pleases his supporters. This is my opinion so take it for what it's worth ........ the cops don't respect or trust Gallegos, nothing can change that. The damage Gallegos and his crowd have done is overwhelming. Regular citizens are just starting to realize it.

    Those are my thoughts.

  10. Sorry Jerry (Droz). The Salzman/localsolutions crowd is a far bigger threat than your RCAA.
If the City of Eureka can get through this election without electing any of the localsolutions/CREG candidates, you will have a chance.

But as long as Gallegos is in the DA's office your junkies and felons will continue to be released back onto your streets.
