  2. Congratulations to Maggie Fleming, she did a great job during the campaign and will do Humboldt County a great job as District Attorney!

  3. It was good to see Mike Losey and Max Cardosa (sp?) here countering the many anonymous lies. Wow, that was a serious shit storm.

  4. Now, maybe Paul will step down -

  5. Mike Losey and Max made this one of the dirtiest races ever. The way Fleming got to power will never be forgotten. Dirty politics.

  6. 2:47...sounds like you are a bit of a sore loser.

    1. Sounds like you are a bit defensive.

  7. Dirty politics? That must be Salzman looking in a mirror.

  8. Let's just all move on, stay positive. And well done, Mr. Klein, for being a gracious gentleman in defeat.

  9. With five percent, he has no option but to be gracious.

He was anything but a gentleman. I am sure Maggie will make it worth his while.

  10. Anon 6:08, you really need to take a breath and admit whoever your candidate was just did not make the cut! Arnie told the truth and he absolutely was a gentleman. People that I saw, became incensed as you are, because he did tell the truth. The thing we all need to do now is get behind the new District Attorney and you need to give her the benefit of the doubt, let her do her job!

  11. Mike Losey, enjoy your gloating. Election spin is one thing. Running and fixing an office is another. Just as Paul was under scrutiny, so will the new District Attorney be watched to see if she delivers.

Arnie Klein did your bidding and I am sure he will be rewarded well for his performance.

  12. Sad little Firpo/Dollison trolls.

  13. Anon 7:35 no gloating, and I know she is going to need help. Paul took control of a top notch prosecutor's office with attorney's who were known statewide for their abilities. He took that office and ran it into the ground. Maggie now takes that office from the ground and will make it into one of the most respected offices as it once was. She will do that and keep law enforcement in check. Yes, keep an eye out and you will be surprised by what she does.

  14. And, NOW, Mike, you should book a room at a restaurant or pizza place, and ALL four candidates should go have pizza (or a meal) and a beer, And bury the hatchet.

There is, as you point out, a lot of work to be done. Elections can be contentious - and believe me you all had it EASY - but, they don't have to create long-lasting animosity.

A LEADER will set aside resentments and grievances, and do this simple thing. Be bigger than all the pettiness, and open up on a positive note.

These are all four good people.

    1. Rose, you make a good point. Some people will continue to snipe but it is important now to move past.

Will Maggie and her supporters be gracious to their opponents and their supporters who have wished well and are willing to move forward?

We will see if my comment to Mike and blog post will get a response.

Virginia showed grace and class in her comments in the Times-Standard. That is the sign of a leader.

    2. In fact, I just saw Maggie and congratulated her.

She responded back as the Maggie I have known. That is leadership. She looks relaxed and happy as she should be.

  15. Nice thought Rose, but that's not the way Mike or Maggie plays. And I'm doubting Firpo is sitting down with you or Mike after all the lies about Salzman being her campaign manager.

    1. Anon, maybe you should not be speaking for Firpo or anyone else.

Salzman as a Firpo supporter crossed the line by acting as if he was on Firpo's campaign. The anti Paul and anti Salzman hurt Firpo.

    2. Losey and Rose knew better. That just makes it dirty politics.

    3. Losey and Rose used Salzman as a scare tactic. It worked. Bravo. Sleep well

  16. Thanks, I am sleeping well, Anonymous.

  17. Since Rose always uses her name, I guess that the anon would be Mike Losey. Mr. I always use my name.
