  1. They've had a show for at least 4 or 5 years. I'm always suprised but it's consistantly one of the best talk shows the KMUD has. Wildly diverse issues and subjects. Ulansey even comes across as reasonable.

  2. OMG! You can't say THAT!!! Don't you know Ulansey is the devil incarnate?

  3. The whole point of being the devil is to appear reasonable and tempting. Until . . .

  4. And again, misconstruing, possibly intentionally what I, one of his loudest critics is saying. Definitely NOT evil. Lee sounds like a tireless advocate for the disabled for example. No snark intended or implied.

Again, Lee has an extremely different set of ethics than I do or most people concerned about planning do. Lee's ethics focus on honoring landowners. Mine and others focus on figuring out ways as a community we can work to plan for the future based on community values. ie, working to live sustainably through thoughtful, central planning. Not planning run by the Chamber of Commerce or individual property owners.

Or perhaps another way of saying that once it goes through the conservo-filter is *arms waving in the air* Lee is the devil incarnate.

Oh, also, I'm for no-growth, and I'd like to control what you do in the bedroom. *makes call to 1st Ave and 46th, NYC*

  5. Why is HumCPR even bothering with Eric's political viewpoint now? He and his ilk do not represent anyone but a noisy elitist minority.

Why not get a majority community representative to talk with HumCPR? It's our community that land vs property issues affect, not a tiny elitist group who are highly dependent on two elements not native to Humboldt County, HSU students, a constant flow of naive young people being taught as the attack on the conservative teacher showed a "Progressive" tilted educational agenda, but this body of students is enough to arm protests and do the grunt work in aid of eliminating working class jobs and general economic support for the whole community.

In SoHum, it's pot that brings in the outsiders who don't give a rat's ass about anything but making pot a successful enterprise, screw community taxation to support schools and hospitals, but do donate to EPIC and be swindled out of money by the people now protecting Yuppies in Arcata and giving the shaft to homesteaders. But taking their money at Beginnings every time with a great band and eats to cover up the ruse of epic abuse and use of homesteaders. What a community! Dysfunctional in most every direction.

You want eco-community standards you go to eco-community experts. Who are not Planners or political organizers or their Protesters. Until you go to eco-community planners you get passe bad ideas set in stone into repairing the damage of careless community design left to economic and political pressures instead of ecological community planning science.

  7. Eric Kirk is irrelevant. Who is going to want to sit through an hour of this guy talking as though he knows EVERYTHING. His high water mark was with Clendenen. Enough said.

  8. Ditto. You read his blog and he still doesn't get it that he is not the political pundit he thinks he is. Gets the political races wrong every time he forgets rubber stamping Prog candidates doesn't work in Humboldt County. But he's a climber and will climb whatever hill in Humboldt County gives him an opportunity. Choose more community representative people, HumCPR, and not the Prog gang's window dressing front man.

  9. And! He might be as terrible a lawyer as Gags.

  10. I need to come by here more often, Rose. For a long time I thought I was the only one in the county that recognized Lying John and Eric Kirk for what they are.
