Once again, "heraldo"... w/update

.

Tell me what the difference is between “heraldo” and the anonymous person who posted nasty comments about Tammy Falor on my blog.

“heraldo's” latest target is Eureka City Manager Dave Tyson, who "heraldo" suddenly alleges is too close to Arkley. The question here is who is “heraldo” close to? And why is "heraldo” terrified of you finding out who “he” is and who “he” is close to?

Gallegos and Salzman know who I am. Dave Tyson isn’t afforded the same courtesy by “heraldo.”

I faced my fears when I decided to start the blog, and use my name.

What is “R. Trent heraldo” afraid of?

If “heraldo’s” opinion has any validity “he” should stand behind “his” words.

Update: Twice in one week, "heraldo's" having crow for dinner. This time, David Tyson responded to set him straight. Good goin'.

  1. Rose,

Mr. H. is a coward, a morale coward and most assuredly a physical coward.

Cowards are like thieves, they think that others are ths same as them.

But I'm sure you know this.

  2. I don't think there is any difference - they are actually both "anonymous" since we don't know who either of them actually are. And all this from yet another anonymous. lol

  3. THE TIMES- STANDARD
District Attorney Paul Gallegos gave SWAT team members and negotiators “transactional immunity” in order to illicit their testimony in the grand jury proceedings that ultimately lead to the indictment of their commanding officers, sources said this week.

*I thot police are sposed to answer questions cause they believe in da rule of law. Not hold out for immunity before they agree to tell da truth.

  4. You want the post below this one - your point is taken, I guess we will see when this all goes to trial, just what was said, and how Gallegos is going to fight for "justice for all."

  5. If you find out who she is Rose, it would be an EPIC coup.

  6. soooo.....claims about a woman hitting on another woman is a "nasty" comment? i personally for one would like to know every detail about that case since my money was spent so carelessly...

maybe if a woman doesnt want the world to know she likes woman-on-woman sex, she shouldnt hit on other women.....

  7. why does "rose" go to church? "god" remains anaonymous. or does rose rant and rave to "god" throughout the mass that he/she/it MUST reveal herelf?

maybe she thinks that heraldo is god?

    ReplyDelete
  8. according to the first post, at 11:57, "god" is a theif, a coward and physically weak for remaining anonymous.......

  9. theotherme =thesameoldAH

  10. Too many "quotes" in this post.

    ReplyDelete
  11. "god" should always be in quotes....whichever anonymous ghost you believe in is fine with me, but "god" is a generic term...

    ReplyDelete
  12. It might be a nasty comment to accuse a woman who is in a long term committed relationship of hitting on anyone else, male or female, and worse to say she is guilty of harassment in the workplace, otherme. That is a serious and nasty allegation.

And, no, I don't go to church, so you can stop worrying about how I spend my Sundays. :)

All I am saying about "heraldo" is that as a blogger, when "he/she/it/they decide to smear another person, they should be up front about who they are.

You know me well enough to know that I do not discourage anonymous comments, that I have defended people's right to post anonymous comments, have compared it to a giant masquerade ball, and have pointed out that some good quality information can be gained from people feeling free to speak anonymously,

"heraldo" is a different case entirely and you are intelligent enough to grasp the nuances.

But in case you're having trouble with it, just imagine my blog if I were anonymous, and the people I speak of didn't know me, what would be being said about me? I can assure you it would be much harsher than anything that has been said to "heraldo."

"heraldo" knows that I am right. Now the question is, will he/she/it/they do the right thing?

  13. And 4:51 - I am listening.

  14. Rose, you don't know when to shut up your nasty deformed craw, do you?

  15. Tyson's response to "heraldo's" (and Other's) allegations:

David Tyson Says: February 2, 2008 at 7:27 pm
Wow…I’ve never been the topic of a blog that i know of. It has been really entertaining to read all this stuff about me..some I didn’t know myself. Let me correct a few facts however: I attended Jacobs Junior High School not Zane…could never been a Falcon; I graduated from EHS in 1975 and didn’t meet Rob or Cherie Arkley until 1998 when she was elected to the City Council; I’ve never seen Rob’s jet; the only time I’ve been to the Eureka Reporter was for a Chamber Mixer a couple of years back; and it has been several months since I was in SN’s building. oh…and I hang out at OH’s once in awhile because Mayor Bass owns the place and I like the onion rings. I’ve served the citizens of Eureka for 18 years and the City Council asked me to be the City Manager in 2000…and they offered the 4 -1 vote in hopes to encourage me to take the job that I’ve held now for 8 years. I realize that most of you (Greg and Carol are the exception) don’t know me so I invite you to come by City Hall anytime to talk or we can go for a coffee…but I have to warn you I prefer Ramone’s coffee over Starbucks. Finally Heraldo, as a runner and hiker I take great exception to loitering comment.

  17. It seems Heraldo has cranked his anti-Arkley campaign up a few notches recently.

This time he is using more blatant lies from "sources" to try and smear Tyson by suggesting he is doing something inappropriate.

I wonder if something is going on that he feels threatened and needs to lash out?

    ReplyDelete
  18. I am wondering the same thing.

Obviously, the crew "heraldo" has determined Tyson to be in the way of their agenda (for Hank, that is whatever it is they are trying to do, as yet to be uncovered).

As an obstacle, he has to be "destroyed" - something "heraldo" and crew specialize in (which explains their dancing up and down in fury over the alleged "shove.)

Salzman used phony names to write letters attacking the people who he deemed a threat - now they have switched to blogging.

It's been suggested I start a 'watchheraldo' blog. there is no need. This blog covers Gallegos' handlers, Salzman, Miller, Lovelace, the Sterling-Nichols' and crew, and "heraldo" is part and parcel to all of it.

So what has happened recently? Any ideas?

There's the story on the bay silting in in today's paper...

  19. 9:17,
maybe people feel threatened that the balloon tract development process is going on...seems to me like this is just the early stages of the war that will ensue as the balloon tract issue draws closer and closer...

as for "outing" people, im still not thrilled at the thought of it............

as for the falor case. there would be NO comments on it if there hadnt been a huge payoff....a huge payoff means something "big" happened.......do you really expect people not to comment on something "big" happening in our county government?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh, I expect people to comment - and ask questions, and demand answers. I'd like some myself. But I don't think personal attacks are necessary.

As to Marina Center, would there be a battle if it was Glenn Goldan doing the project? Dolores Vellutini? I don't think so.

Would there be a battle if Rob Arkley was tithing to Salzman and the Baykeeper leeches? I don't think so.

As for "outing" - I have never asked you who you are, otherme, though I admit I am curious. I am not asking you, or Yo, or Anony.MIss, or Boymostlikelyto to say who they are.

I didn't even ask "JaneDoe" to out herself. I simply asked what she is afraid of and pointed out that she could ask any of the people who are known, such as Greg and Carol, Fred, Ernie, Kym, Jack, Hank, and others if being known affects their right to express themselves. It doesn't. She ought to be proud enough of herself and her opinions to stand behind them. She won't.

"heraldo" as a blog "owner" is different. And when "he" uses "his" blog as a smear and attack machine, "he" should say who he is. Period.

    ReplyDelete
  21. By the way,why isn't heraldo screaming bloody murder about bay pollution and lack of proper permits for a recient violation? It's because heraldo's OK with anything baykeepers, epic.nec and all the other anti-groups do. heraldo seems to only attack the evil doers. If the shove had been reversed heraldo would be cheering the brave Glass.Very Bushish of heraldo.

    ReplyDelete
  22. "There's the story on the bay silting in in today's paper...".

Yet another casualty of Marina Center.

    ReplyDelete
  23. "heraldo seems to only attack the evil doers."

ummmm.......did you think about that sentence before you said it? are you sticking up for evil doers?

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think I will skip the crow recipe, Rose.

It was fun to wake up this morning and read Dave's comments on Heraldo's blog. Dave has a good sense of humor.

    ReplyDelete
  25. "heraldo seems to only attack the evil doers."

i think that would be the highest complement that a person could make about heraldo. im not kidding..thats the goal of his blog, to attack evil doers....it should be every human's goal actually.....

    ReplyDelete
  26. Guess "he" better start posting about "himself" then.

I'd hardly qualify Dave Tyson as an evil-doer He's well liked and respected. And justifiably so.

"heraldo" on the other hand is aligned with the predatory litigants who are feeling powerful, and have decided to start threatening public officials with ruin if they don't get in line.

No different than the ol' Boss Hogg stereotype, just a new face to fool you.

    ReplyDelete
  27. boss hogg? if there is a boss hogg in the community its rob arkley......im all for arkley's projects, but to deny that he's the most powerful guy in town is downright silly...

    ReplyDelete
  28. theo,Arkley is not the most powerful. That's only a position some, perhaps you too, want to place on him. Don't you know that tad is the real power aroung these parts. Theo, that too is hyperbole just like"evil doers". Chill man chill.

    ReplyDelete
  29. "As to Marina Center, would there be a battle if it was Glenn Goldan doing the project? Dolores Vellutini? I don't think so."

Uh Rose explain this one again.I reckon that this project has been in constant litigation for 11 years,or am I mistaken.

The Boss Hogg mentality accusation certainly fit Tyson to a tee when he tried to prevent moving the Calpine hearing to the Muni, and accused the opposition of having a "lynch mob mentality" for not catering to Tyson's wishes and allowing the ridiculous proposal.(Actually Calpine would've likely gone bankrupt during its construction.)
As for Dave catering to the Arkley's who knows. But I have a hard time believing that he's visited the SN offices any more times than paying a visit to The Works. And what do I care if he hangs out at OH's.
And Rose,be glad that someone is watching what Tyson is doing. He needs a watchdog, ask Sue Brandenberg.See paragraph 1,where I totally disagree with her.But regardless, she makes salient points about Tyson's handling of business affairs.
Heraldo's piece is shallow in that he takes on Tyson for something relatively minor when he/she could expose more pertinent info that the public may need to know, and I'd imagine that Heraldo has.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hey, I was there at the Calpine hearing in the front row sitting in between Greg and Tim McKay. You are taking Tyson's quotes out of context, Mark. We were not in support of Calpine, and Dave knew that. The energy in the room was very intense that evening. We left before we had a chance to make our public comment, because we had brought our kids, and the behavior of some of the audience was bordering on unruly. My kids were scared, and so was I. We left. It was a very vocal group teetering on a mob. Greg said the last time he had seen so many angry people was during the formation of Redwood National Park - there were a lot of loud angry loggers. That kind of behavior is intimidating.

    ReplyDelete
  31. There was a mob mentality that night, mresquan. Salzman and crew drummed up alot of it, and they continue to take full credit for it. Salzman and Miller saw that as a wave they could ride to seize power.

This is another oddity in that no one I know was for Calpine, yet Salzman successfully portrayed to the community that he and his group were the only ones opposing it. Kinda like the trails issue. No one is against the trail, yet that faction uses it as a wedge issue.

In fact, letting the mob rule a public meeting is a genie that is difficult to put back in the bottle.

Sometimes I think we need a new class for all high schools that teaches people about the public process, how to talk to public officials, and how to successfully get your point across without resorting to personal attacks and vitriol.

Most people who work for the County and other offices are good people just like you, and most are willing to help. Some get caught up in the bureaucracy and cannot think creatively enough to solve problems, but that is just the nature of human beings.

    ReplyDelete
  32. It was not mob rule at all.The proposal was just so ridiculous yet was indeed gaining lots of momentum despite obvious public disapproval.
I went to a Eureka city council meeting about a year when Chris proposed an ordinance recognizing same sex marriages.Rose and Carol you should of heard some of the comments directed at the gay and lesbian in attendance that night. All local churches and conservative groups sent out their hitmen. The guy who spoke before me accused all supports of engaging in beastiality because they lack all morals. That was the closest thing I've seen to any sort of "lynch mob"yet Tyson didn't object to any of that crap. That's just one example.
No what happened with Calpine is citizens in droves had the nerve to speak out against a horrid plan,me included, which I think disgusts Tyson to this day.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Heraldo cares about Heraldo. A twisted and obsessed man.

    ReplyDelete
  34. people who care about themselves are twisted and obsessed? i must be one twisted and obessesed individual.....

    ReplyDelete
  35. Rose you have an interesting imagination. You should write Nancy Drew mystery novels!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yet, 1:53, time and time again I have been proven right. In the fullness of time, others are coming to see the truth as well. Much of it is in their own words. All you have to do is listen.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Rose, In the fullness of time you will be dead. And if anyone subsequently cares to recount, your actions, they will be given the same assessment as those of G W. Bush.

  38. No one will care, notveryniceNotANative. But I will.

    Thanks for stopping by.

  39. Nonnative

Do you have any sense of the service Rose has provided. It's like a painting....you don't have to buy it but you can appreciate it just the same.

Is she driven? Yep. Does she have a reason to be?

    Absolutely.

I for one, appreciate Rose's honesty and dedication to a fundamental travesty.

I thought Bernie Depaoli was disingenuous. I was right. Just not ight enough....he was and is a crook.
But Gallegos sets a perfectly new standard for arrogant, political opportunism.

And you, my dear unnative, get to pay the price along with the rest of us.

Don't blame Rose for the truth. If you want to be understood go to Cynth....er Heraldo's Blog. Lot's of friends for you there.

    Thanks Rose.

    Somebody needs to tell it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. OK, who is Cynth ...... ???

Does this mean Hearldo is a girl?

The non native whould like people to think he is intelligent and incitful but he is not. Oh well.

I think that when the acts or inactions of PVG are finally investigated the investigators will use Rose's blog and archives as an "investigative road map".

    ReplyDelete
  41. Rose - what information do you have that it was Salzman involved in the whole Calpine thing?

I was certainly a part of the anti-Calpine effort and never heard of him being part of it. In fact at that time I didn't even know who he was.

There were a lot of us first time activists who worked hard to create public awareness. We were organized and effective.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Have to agree with Mike B. Never saw Salzman at any of the meetings to stop Calpine.

Not everyone was against the Calpine idea. The Eureka Chamber was backing "studying" it along with lots of other people. The only problem (other than maybe a safety issue) is that would have been the only business on the bay as no ships or boats could have gone past an LNG tanker with the width of the bay but only a few people recognized that as a problem.

    ReplyDelete
  43. And if you know him now, you know you rarely see him at meetings and that doesn't mean he is not involved.

To answer your question, it was his listserve, combined with the trumpeting afterwards about how "they" had stopped Calpine. And figuring they could use the momentum to , in Ken Miller's words - "accrue power" and get "progressives" elected. Some of those have been posted here early on, Mike. This was followed by "Local Solutions" adopting the same claim to fame. Perhaps his effort was separate from yours, but it was definitely active.

You were uninvolved with him in the beginning, and you were at the forefront of the whole thing, and rightfully so - as I said, no one I know was in favor of the LNG facility being located offshore with all the possible disaster scenarios. Most people agreed it was enough to have to worry about a chlorine spill.

Thats said, it would be irresponsible for anyone involved in city government NOT to study any proposed project, NOT to meet with the representatives. The simple act of meeting, and looking into something does not necessarily represent being FOR it.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The anti- calpine deal was a good grass roots idea that turned into mob rule. It did not have to. If the process was allowed to go forward, Eureka and the greater Humb. area could have recieved the benifit of a great deal of valuable studies in traffic, enviroment, safety, transportation, recreation, restoration and economic modeling. These valuable studies could have been the tools necessary to help us develope other compatable future projects. The dollar value of this type of pre planning is multiplied many times. That is only one of negitive aspects of the calpine mob rule. Rose identified some others. No matter,as we know all to well cutting off ones nose to spite the face is buisness as usual for the politically motivated. Calpine was a no fit for us but I believe in the long run the local solution, dot orgs win at all cost, calpine of politics, will be far worse for us.

    ReplyDelete
  45. calpine wont be back, but LNG is not all bad.....natural gas is not imported from the middle east, we even have natural gas wells here in humboldt county.........with the energy crisis in full swing, we could have taken advantage of it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. You're right about that - the Journal has done a couple of stories on that over the years, one of them recently, wasn't it?
