130 days

Granted, losing the election in June won't mean he's out immediately, that won't happen until january. But you are 130 days away from fixing the Humboldt County DA's Office.

  1. We'd better get another candidate to back. And fast.

Bryson is a wacko. Please get any past superior to give us an honest evaluation of her capabilities as an attorney so the truth will out and we can move past her. Ask for a consensus of respectable attorneys, judges, bailiffs, or court clerks who have had to clean up her messes in court.

  2. Cute. More mud slinging without a shred of actual evidence. Is that the specialty of this blog?

  3. Hold on there, 9:14 - as I said before, if you are going to enter this arena, if you are going to run this race, you need to develop a tougher skin. That comment of anonymous' above is the LEAST of what you will have to face.

It's sad, but becoming a political candidate is brutal. You have to run the gauntlet, you have to go through the fire, and when you make it out the other end, win or lose, you will be a changed person. You will be tougher. The fire will have forged steel. And you will need that, because you will have to stand up to even worse once you take a seat, whatever it is. It's not for the faint of heart.

  4. Bryson will lose. Hagen won't run and Allison Jackson is afraid to run, because she knows Gallegos will beat her

  5. Rose, Kindly supply some FACTS and spare us the empty generalizing about "running the gauntlet."

There is a lot of evidence, Kathleen. I won't leak it, but keep this **** up and someone will.

  7. Paul Gallegos is history. He has no supporters.

  8. Wishful thinking, Rose. As an incumbent, he enjoys a significant edge. I realize this blog is dedicated to destroying him but after all this time and all these postings, you've repeatedly failed to come up with facts to support your invectives. Instead, you've come to rely on nasty gossip to bring him down. People aren't stupid. With every post here you are helping his career as DA.

I don't have a dog in this fight. Just telling you what I see.

  9. "He has no supporters."

And he didn't have all that much support when he beat Dikeman either.Just because a candidate doesn't have overt support doesn't mean they will lose an election.I mean,Arnold won in a landslide despite overwhelming disapproval.Unless a decent, viable candidate without much baggage steps up,and with the new Supreme Court ruling giving Salzman all the tools needed,Paul wins easily.

  10. dedicated to destroying him> Hardly. I hope he has a long and successful career as a private attorney. He has a business after all - Gallegos and Gallegos.

There's a difference between pointing out that he is not a good DA and "destroying" him. Anyone who prosecutes Penny O'Gara and Sean Marsh, while making deals with murderers is not a good DA. Anyone who files a lawsuit at his backers behest is not a good DA. Anyone who pursued setting up a "Trust Fund" to privately fun his backers' vendetta by proposing to solicit, accept and use special interest money to fun a public prosecution does not deserve to be DA.

Moot point anyway, the word on the street is he has been abandoned by those backers. Two are rumored to still be on board. The rest will be actively working against him.

  11. Against Hagen? Think again. You're talking smoke vs. substance.

Gallegos needs more than Richard Salzman and Chuck Powell to overcome the last four years of disappointing performance.
