Striking a blow for free speech

☛ ER Striking a blow for free speech

The Activist Community needs this Measure which hogties their targets, and prevents them from being able to fight back. Who will they get to try to defend the piece-of-shit Measure T? Despite their propaganda, telling the voters that their phony experts would defend it in court, it will most likely fall to County Counsel (or hired outside Counsel) - OR to Gallegos.

And THAT will be very entertaining.

  1. Your post is a day early. Today's ER reports that the two corporations involved in the instigation of this lawsuit have already violated Measure T. One of them got busted giving cement (cement?) to Nancy Flemming, and she can't remember it. I hope she can search her memory and tell us all just what in the world a political campaign was doing with a donation of cement. Maybe they auctioned it off?

  2. Local Dem

Really? Violated Measure "T"? Maybe PVG will try and prosecute that one. Maybe he can bring back Tim Stoen for the task? And it can go by the way of Palco, August, and Douglas/Zanotti??

Maybe PVG can deputize Kaitlan Pancakefeed Whatshername to prosecute the two mean ole nasty corporations (local corporations).

Measure "T" is going to be tossed out on it's ear. I'm so glad these two "corporations" stood up to the plate on this one. Too bad for local solutions and crew.

  3. Uh, snark - wasn't Measure T running the same time as Nancy? Meaing it wasn't even in effect at the time....?

Yeah One of the companies that filed a lawsuit against Humboldt County to overturn Measure T violated the ordinance on at least two occasions after its enactment.

What - was Measure T retroactive?

  4. From today's ER:

"One of the companies that filed a lawsuit against Humboldt County to overturn Measure T violated the ordinance on at least two occasions after its enactment.

Mercer-Fraser Co., an asphalt paving, highway and heavy construction company based out of Eureka, contributed to two campaigns in 2006 and 2007 after the ordinance took effect July 6, 2006."

  5. YES. But you said One of them got busted giving cement (cement?) to Nancy Fleming,

Fleming's race was BEFORE it passed.

  6. Not that it matters, but...
the article actually says Mercer-Fraser gave Nancy Fleming "concrete".
While concrete is a cement, cement is not necessarily concrete.
    Pet peeve. Sorry.
