TS Final update: Smith wins in landslide, 2nd District still too close to call, 3rd District to Lovelace, Measure C passes
ER Jimmy Smith wins 1st District with plenty of breathing room
ER Lovelace wins Third District
JNLiveblogging the Election
TS Landslide by Smith in 1st District
TS Lovelace takes it all in 3rd
TS 2nd District runoff set
TS Nothing appears to prevent Johanna Rodoni as write-in
The results sure show how out of touch the Eureka Reporter's editorial board is with the citizens of Humboldt
ReplyDeleteSmith is a gentalman beyond belief!
ReplyDeleteI miss Roger
Lovelace aced Plumley even with Pitino playing Nader spolier ...
all is good in the Humboldt Nation
Vevoda - Strike ONE!
ReplyDeleteRodoni - Strike TWO!
Plumley - Strike THREE!
There is no joy in Arkleyville, the mighty HumCPR struck out!
Where is Rose?
ReplyDeleteIs she outside waving the white flag?
There is nothing to prevent Johanna from doing a write-in campaign except the fact that only the top 2 candidates in the election can run in the run-off and that doesn't include her since she didn't run. The Secretary of State needs a new spokesperson.
ReplyDeleteThe law could spell it out a little more clearly, but I'm pretty certain that a review of the legislative history will find that the nonpartisan primaries were intended to result in a majority win rather than a plurality. And if that's not the goal, then why waste our time with the first round election at all?
ReplyDeleteIt's odd that the TS article neglects any mention of the statute itself.
ReplyDeleteRose is too upset to blog today, you will have to excuse her.
ReplyDeletei think that the label on this thread that reads "ken miller's quest for power" says it all.
ReplyDeleteis it paranoia or denial or jealousy? i cant tell, but either way, its not healthy....ken miller was not up for election.
But his buttboy was. And won.
ReplyDeleteIt's insanity.
ReplyDelete5:29,
ReplyDeletehis buttboy? do you realize how much your comments say about YOURSELF?
you make moderates like me want to vote for anyone that people like you support.
theo
ReplyDeleteyou consider yourself a "moderate"?
Who are you trying to fool/impress?
There was no mention of who I SUPPORT! So who are you going to vote for?
7,05,
ReplyDeleteim a registered republican, although no republicans will get my vote in 2008...im actually thinking of voting democrat for the 1st time in my life.
and yes, you did mention who you support. by calling a candidate a "buttboy", you clearly made a choice. its either that or you are a participant in butt games with these guys and you know for a FACT that he's a buttboy. if you are his other buttboy, then ill accept that you havent expressed support for anyone, and have instead stated a fact.
so are you his buttboy or did you support vevoda?
that last post should have read: did you support plumley? not vevoda
ReplyDeleteEach Board of Sups candidate that Rose supported lost
ReplyDeleteouch

ReplyDeleteRose supported Johanna Rodoni and Johanna Rodoni won. She won the most votes.
ReplyDeleteEric, the most ardent anti-democracy activist in Humboldt County, is quite willing to scotch democracy for the majority voters in the 2nd District if it helps the Prog Machine seize political control.
if we want to be technical, ROGER rodoni won the most votes, not johanna.
ReplyDeletesour grapes stink...
Theo, let Steven be,he's clearly confused about that. It's all over the blogs.
ReplyDeletetheo I don't think you're on track. again.
ReplyDeleteso you work with a bunch of drunken sailors? that explains alot.

ReplyDeleteYawn......what facts have i misused?
ReplyDeleteif you cant make a logical argument, dont bother to post. simply calling names make you look worse than the person you are trying to dehumanize.
ReplyDeletewhen i see a post that attacks a person without giving ANY debate on the issue, i know ive struck a chord.

ReplyDelete9:29,
ReplyDeletei didnt support anyone in the 2nd.....get a clue and stop with the sour grape routine....
Its sour grape poisoning, Theo. There is no antidote.
ReplyDeleteLet's aim for a higher level of discourse. There are serious issues to be discussed. For the sake of other readers... you guys are better than this.
ReplyDeleteGood point Rose, but it's hard to elevate the conversation with floaters like theo and the lovelace clones. Perhaps we should just ignore posts from such fools.Of course it's these fools that turn our lovely play ground into a smelly septic tank.
ReplyDeleteyeah, im a lovelace clone...there ya go....name calling makes you feel good because YOU CANT AGRUE ISSUES!!!
ReplyDeleteim more fiscally conservative than most of rose's readers. get a clue..
