Delusional Ken Miller defends his failed Palco lawsuit

If only HE could have gone and argued the case, surely the outcome would have been different. Surely.

At some point I will read the whole thing, I guess. I didn't get part the first couple sentences, and the "courageous" lawsuit. Yes. That one. The one Ken Miller wrote. The same one that was - literally - laughed out of court.

But let this record show, there was - and there is - nothing 'courageous' about an elected politician filing a lawsuit at the behest of his backers and handlers. 'COURAGE' would have been saying, "No, Ken. Sorry, it doesn't work that way."

Ken glosses over all the lies. Employs his spin doctored talking points, and his delusional version of reality. Even Gallegos knows it's false, if ever he were to admit the truth.

Paul Gallegos restored honor to DA's office = Ken Miller's MY WORD in the Times-Standard

Now, if only he could restore our seasoned, trained, top-flight Prosecutors. He had 20 when he took office, right, Ken? How many prosecutors does he have now, not even counting whether they're experienced or not... six? seven?

  4. I had hoped that this change of leadership would leave you in a better mental state. Obviously not. Your tea party mindset is just too dense.

    So sad.

  5. They're hurting, Rose. The enviro/Proggies are losing ground right and left and thrashing out in desperation of failed political agendas against Humboldt County's working class. Ken Miller was instrumental in leading the enviro attack on local Humboldt County workers as his Humboldt Watershed Council with Mark Lovelace as public face to this little group of fanatics who were so stupid as to think they could just turn the American Constitution around to suit their aims. Now all Humboldt County suffers from the demise of the former lead anchor employer for hundreds of forest and mill workers and all the subcontractors supporting them and all the business tax losses gone from Humboldt County services, thank you, Ken Miller and Mark Lovelace!

As for Gallegos, his deal with Bear River's former tribal chairperson to get the chairperson's son's sentences eliminated (21 felonies dismissed) in exchange for 10,000 campaign donation tells the seamy side of Paul's ethics and Ken's by not reporting those cases that show some of the reasons why so many people will be glad to see Gallegos go.

  7. Funny thing that - see, Stephen has been proven RIGHT, Ken. He has said for a long, long time that it wasn't Palco that was degrading the ecosystem, it was your pot grower buddies. And, lo and behold, once Palco was out of the way, the true picture came to light. Cutting plateaus and roads into the hills, dumping dirt in the streams, and diesel and rat poison.... and only a few have the intellectual honesty to call it out.

It's Ken Miller who is left tilting at windmills, and crying about Richardson's Grove, and now, having to come out to 'defend' poor Paul, who was surely hoping to leave all this behind when he said he wasn't running - but Ken couldn't take it and had to pour his rear-view mirror heart out. Unless Salzman wrote that piece and stuck Ken's name on it. That'd be par for the course.

    It's humorous.

  9. Besides the years of phony environmentalists like Ken Miller diverting public attention away from the actual major polluters of Humboldt County watersheds, unregulated homestead development that has killed who knows how many endangered species and ruined how many watersheds, Ken's shown he's got a fanatical need to manipulate Humboldt County social politics and his work is in my opinion downright scarily evil:

He's among the enviro leaders that committed modern genocide that happens with the now silent blockage of Native Americans attempting to recover their ancestral lands. Ken Miller, representing Humboldt Watershed Council, attempted to derail Bear River's Heartland Project who's aim was to recover thousands of acres of ancestral land held by Pacific Lumber Co. Here's what Ken Miller did that prompts me to warn the public against his despicable activism:

In 1997 Ken Miller, representing Humboldt Watershed Council, teamed up with Arcata based 7th Generation's Chris Peters who works with enviro groups like EPIC to try to capture our Heartlands Project when we went to 7th Generation for funding advice and help. The first meeting Ken's there with Chris Peters and we, Bear River acting Chairperson Wayne Moon, B.R. Treasurer who's name escapes now, and myself, discussing how to move forward they receive our Heartlands Project proposal and we schedule a follow-up meeting. We come to that 2nd meeting to be handed a new proposal where the name's been changed to 7th Generation's Heartlands Project and they are now the people to go to in a new 7th Generation Heartlands lottery system. Chris told us Bear River was too small and too inexperienced to handle such a project. And Wayne Moon got up from the table with us following him out the door and that was the end of 7th Generation and Humboldt Watershed Council and my eye opener on the ethically-challenged public attention seeking dirty players in the enviro crowd that's morphed into the Progressives to do dirt again to Humboldt County working class people in Humboldt County.

  10. Yeah. Everyone hates Jason Singleton because they can see the results of what he does. But how is he different from the predatory orgs? From Baykeeper?

    He's not.

  11. Heartland project? Is this something you worked on Rose? I can't imagine that Rose would support granting privately owned property to a Native American organization without just compensation.

  12. Anon 10:01, strange leap to a wrong conclusion. Heartlands Project was initially a Bear River sponsored project to recover ancestral land held by Pacific Lumber Co. back in the day. Rose had no connection to it. I was its director. It has changed to the Lifeline Lottery Project now and is finally beginning to happen. Two tribes are joined now by the Lifeline Lottery Project, Bear River and Oglala Lakota to start an inter-tribal lottery system whose Good Cause is one of the best in the world: Disaster Relief. When set up this N.A. run lottery system will raise funds to pay for disaster relief teams to go into communities wiped out by hurricanes, or earthquakes and tsunamis, or tornadoes, or fires, to restore the village systems back to better than original condition because of being replaced by state-of-the-art sustainable eco-village technology. All N.A. tribes signing into the global lottery system will benefit from hosting the lottery system. If things go as planned we will be bringing into Humboldt County the biggest economic engine it's ever had as we create a disaster relief employee-owned eco-technology company with sub-contractors to make the instant shelters needed for quick housing and other village essential system parts. It's going to be a great thing for Humboldt County and it marks my efforts as a social change organizer to help Humboldt County's working class people who have been so disrespected and pushed aside by little gangs of selfish people using and abusing the community's naivete on real environmental protection issues.

Must be nice to be able to pigeon hole a few million people you've never met, keeps things simple. Maybe not accurate, tho:
In 2006, libertarian commentator John Stossel wrote, “But the idea that liberals give more is a myth. Of the top 25 states where people give an above average percentage, all but one (Maryland) were red–conservative–states in the last [2004] presidential election.” Professor Arthur Brooks of Syracuse University, author of the 2007 book Who Really Cares, wrote,“When you look at the data, it turns out that conservatives give about 30 percent more. And incidentally, conservative-headed families make slightly less money.” Brooks added, “The people who give one thing tend to be the people who give everything in America. You find that people who believe it’s the government’s job to make incomes more equal, are far less likely to give their money away.” Referring to a different kind of giving covered by Brooks, Stossel noted, “Conservatives are even 18 percent more likely to give blood.”

  15. If Rose supported this project, she would say so. Her silence tells me that she didn't support it.
