Arcata turns down $8 per ton in revenue, choosing to pay $65 per ton instead.

Arcata opts to stick with ACRC for recycling needs; Promotes developing countywide plan

But, hey, they kept it local.

  3. @ 7:29 As long as WatchPaul and its minions of hate exist out there, Paul will never be removed from office ever. It paints the man as something 100x worse than whatever his faults are. Then in an election you contrast that with his positive family man, and slightly left of center politics(exactly where Humboldt is) and the voters see he is a good fit, and he keeps getting re-elected. When people get on here and tie him to the false allegations that he was involved with the Gore sexual indiscretion in a Portland hotel incident, then Joe Q Citizen thinks Rose and her 3-5 followers are nuts. (Which they are.)

  5. I would think the costs are offset by 30 some people keeping their jobs, paying taxes and buying stuff in town. What is the cost of those people added to the unemployment line?
