Who celebrates incompetence and the destruction of an office?

Letter: Saluting Pal Gallegos’ service to community - "R. Trent Williams" (Richard Salzman himself)

Lying, conniving and slavishly loyal to the end.

If you go - shame on you.

If you go, you're celebrating taking a working office from almost 20 to under 10, the horrific working conditions resulting from being severely understaffed, you're celebrating the horrible reputation the Humboldt DAs Office has earned under Gallegos' tenure (No one wants to work here), inexplicable schizophrenic prosecutions (letting bad guys go, and going after people like the toddler-wanderer Dad). These things are not in dispute.

It's a sorry state of affairs, and it is in very poor taste to advertise it like it is some kind of achievement. But, that's "R. Trent." He doesn't say whether they'll be passing the hat.

(Fitting that there's a typo...)

  1. Duh...he clearly states that they are FRIENDS. Being loyal to a friend is slavish?

Oh, right....your friends are all of the same comfy, small minded mindset that requires daily affirmation that you are all on the same page in your service to "the man". Those aren't your friends, those are your political allies. You obviously lack real friends or taste....or tact for that matter

  2. When he leaves office will you finally STFU and go away?

Obviously you're bitter about something personal, let it go he obviously doesn't care about you or your drivel

  3. Gallegos' legacy, right alongside Merl Harpham and now Andrew Mills, is well established. Gallegos carries a heavier burden for his failure to enforce law and at least indict, Linfoot - in that they are now complicit in the crimes. The question I ask, is what will the new DA do about enforcing law and dealing with the corrupting impunity? Even though, as far as I am concerned, the people of Eureka well deserve the kind of government and policing they've got.

  4. Personal? Let's review. Salman gets Gallegos into office, with all the now easily recognizable code-words, social justice, blah blah blah... gets him into office and immediately "There's a MOLE in the office, leaking info to the Times-Standard" (Oh, really? What is there to hide, three weeks into taking office?) There's a rumor about a recall. "There are FIVE OF US WORKING ON THIS EVERY DAY" "I can't promise you I can call these people off, but I'll try." (Who were these outside agitators? And what was their agenda?)

Yes, it was my misfortune to meet Richard Salzman. And unlike others, when I found out what he was about, I said, no, You don't go about putting corruptible public officials into office and then using them for your ends. Using the people's office to file an activist's lawsuit, bringing Ken Miller in to the office to write the lawsuit - those things are WRONG.

Trying to set up a "Trust Fund" to privately fund, with activist money, a public lawsuit is WRONG, and it threatens the very concept of the people's office. Salman doesn't care about that. Only about the agenda.

You can choose to ignore the liars. I don't.

Personal? No. It would have been easier to ignore it.

Unfortunately for Richard, he chose a flawed vessel. If Gallegos were everything Richard pretends he is, he would have been a formidable and very successful DA.

Instead, you got someone who has no clue how to manage an office, and has shown no inclination to learn. And the result is the mess he's leaving for Maggie to try to fix.

Salzman and his ilk are used to people letting it go. They are prepared to weather a small amount of scrutiny, and they know it will go away, and they will get away with it. Not this time.

In the end, their lawsuit failed because it was flawed. He was laughed out of court, with his bumper-sticker sloganeering, and lack of knowledge.

    Celebrate it? Go for it.

    2. Salzshit, not as strange as you posting every other comment or one of your groupies.

PVG's legacy is selling out victims for growers and child molestors.

  5. I have never met Mr.G or Mr. Salzman, just lived here 40yrs and read blogs.
You're insane and blame any poster that disagrees with you as a "groupie".

Terry farmer was a POS did you rag on him?

You offer no solutions just complain...

Now answer the question will you please leave the blogosphere after he leaves office? I know you'll have no meaning in life and probably wilt away within a year, I'm fine with that

    1. Living here 40 years and blogging qualifies you as an expert and the only one with opinion?

Every defense of Salzshit is anonymous. And his groupies and he himself comment constantly at any criticism.

Anonymous use has been ruined by Salzshit. His boy Paul got his ass kicked this June and was almost out last election.

You seem to have an issue with real law enforcement but like slimeballs who sell their soul for weed.

Go drink the Salzman, Paul koolaid while they laugh all the way to the bank at your stupidity.

  7. Funny thing is - Paul should be hosting the party for Richard Salzman, thanking Richard for covering his ass all these years. For beating up on reporters who dared say anything negative. For spinning every failing. Richard has served him well. Far better than Gallegos served the people. Richard did his job well. Too bad his protege didn't have his tenacity and willingness to learn on the job.

  8. Any truth to the rumor that John Ford has lined up re Oakland Raiders coaching gig for Gallegos. Their new motto, "Just Lose, Baby" would be perfect for him.

John Ford cannot stick to a job long enough, let alone find Gags a gig.
