Derek Bowman back in Humboldt County jail....

On a writ... you wouldn't...

  1. It is impossible to get a pardon from a Governor. It is easy to allow a corrupt DA to let somebody convicted of Attempted Murder to be released based upon some bogus claims in a Writ. (If you don't believe me ask former convicted molester Tim Littlefield who is free because of Gallegos and Clanton). Wonder if Mommy and Daddy Bowman left a bequeath to Paul in their Wills and this is payback time. So who deserves to be in Jail more Bowman or Gallegos. I know that is a hard one.

  2. Wondering if he is claiming inadequate misrepresentation by counsel...

  3. Does anybody know who his attorney was?

  4. I believe it is a public defender, Bowman ran out of funds.

  5. Yes, but who represented him in the Att. Murder case?

Was that a Public Defender? Or did he have private counsel? These Writs are typically complaining about the performance of the counsel below.

  7. Sorry this is an anonymous comment as it is easier to post this way. I represented him and he is claiming IAC (Ineffective Assistance of Counsel). I routinely counsel people that they have a right to an appeal and IAC is a common basis.

I have cooperated fully with the writ in terms of liaising with the DDA. And of course, I handed over the file to Conflict Counsel.

The basis of the claim is that he did not know that Attempted Murder was a strike when he pled to it. That is all that I will state publicly. This is all part of the record. Kathleen Bryson

    1. The first anonymous commenter speaks the truth. The corrupt outgoing DA is responsible.

Put the blame where it belongs. On inept Paul and the scumbags that support him.

Paul was elected to represent, the people, the victims and not criminals.

I cannot wait for Maggie to take over and provide support to the DDAs who do a great job with a moron for a boss. He is too busy attending parties and absent at the courthouse.

One more month of $13,000 plus at taxpayer's expense.

Kathleen may have represented him in 1 case but he has 30 other cases in the system.

Didn't his family supports Gags financially for camsign funds? That never got covered in the media.

    2. The Eureka Reporter did EXCELLENT coverage of that. Nine felonies swooped up on a single day and dismissed. HUGE campaign contributions. Acosta was involved in that too.

    3. And Mommie on the courthouse steps, don't forget.

    4. Times-Standard, North Coast Journal, Lost Coast Outpost provide Dickie Salzshit a forum. Paul's biggest champion.

Do your jobs and report the news.

    5. I think Max Cardoza got very defensive about the 9 felony wrist slap reduction. He claimed it was ordinary and routine and nothing to see her. That sealed why he stayed under Gallegos (whom he detested) and even came back after he retired. He hated what he did, but he enjoyed keeping his snout in the public trough.

  8. yep, it is a common thing, try every last-ditch scheme, I'm sure that's the case here. Didn't know it was a strike - hahahahahah. Like that's gonna fly.

  9. Maybe Derek should stay out of trouble and not plead ignorance of law?
