  1. So someone who quits after the new DA takes over is part of the legacy? Jaded much? Seems like someone thought the new regime wasn't enough of an improvement. Rumor is that others are looking to jump ship too.

  2. They have, and have always had, my sympathy. It is not their fault they fell into a bad place. But most of them took the job with Paul having READ about him here, and choosing to believe it couldn't be all that bad. They've been overworked, under-supported and under-mentored. It hurts them. The ones who stay on will find out how much better things can be.

  3. Luke Brownfield was a Public Defender masquerading as a DA. Prior to becoming a DA, he was a Publuc Defender. He is merely returning to a job that he really wanted anyway. He'll have a bunch of conflicts.

  4. Agreed. All Brownfield did was sit mute unless he was dismissing cases. Problem now is that he will have to try cases when his clients won't plea out. Now that'll be funny since Brownfield is both lazy and incompetent.

  5. He has been working in CAST for a good many months so there might not be as many conflicts as you think. As for lazy and incompetent, In 2013 he took an attempted murder to trial. He was neither lazy nor incompetent. He was well prepared, always respectful, and even clever when it was required. There were over 20 witnesses for the People and he did what needed to be done with each and every one of them. I think all you nay-sayers are just jealous that he is way more handsome than you all could ever hope to be.

  6. He lost that Attempted Murder case to...Kathleen Bryson. (Convicted of lesser charges). What about the pimp/sexual abuser case. Dismissed, then a mistrial and finally a pity plea by Ben McLaughlin.

  7. And every person commenting here will smile and be two-faced in front of Luke or Kathleen. Pays to know who your real friends are.
