Run aground

NEC could make big cuts or close this month
Northcoast Environmental Center on the skids

You know what I think of the predatory litigious mentality that has taken over - it ain't about saving the planet - it's about power, and wasting other people's money to get it.

Awww, what a shame.

heraldo ENDANGERED: Your NEC
Eric

GREAT EDITORIAL in the TS today - 7/15/09
NEC has more than just debt to overcome
...There's no doubt that such help is needed, but we believe there are even bigger issues at play. Frankly, the NEC has lost its way. In what has turned out to be a painfully long period of transition after McKay's death, the group has lost its identity, and in many ways has alienated former supporters -- by opposing a plan aimed at restoring the Klamath basin, in one example -- and angered what used to be respectful intellectual adversaries....

NEC board decides to pare back
NEC Board President Pete Nichols said that the board on Wednesday decided to eliminate the center's administrative director position, currently held by Georgianna Wood. It will also be moving from its G Street house in Arcata to a Jacoby Storehouse storefront.

Yep - getting rid of the one person who actually did something. Smart.

Varieties of Bankruptcy Town Dandy
Left out one variety of bankruptcy - the bankruptcy of character.

  3. I think it is funny they are complaining about an expensive environmental cleanup. Maybe they should have rented space in Eureka and saved some money for their operations.

  4. Maybe Arkley might have a room for them at the Marina. lol. It's amazing how destructive this bunch of dip shits have been. If it wasn't for extortion&grant money they would have died long ago. BUT, don't count them out to soon. Just like a virus they seem to hand on.

  5. Another neo-prog scam. Invent a crisis and never let it go to waste.

  6. This might be the only good news I've heard in as long as I can remember.

  8. Rose had it right on the T-S thread. DUHC is sucking up all the oxygen and crowding the others out.

  10. Healthy Humboldt. HumIBA. Humboldt Green Party. Humboldt Community Currency Project. CCCD. Local Solutions PAC.

These are ALL front groups, all tentacles of the Cobb/Kaitlin control freak machine known as Democracy Unlimited of Humboldt County (DUHC).

Why is the NEC going under? They don't fit into the DUHC financing scheme, that's why.

  11. They are a slimy crew ,for sure. Katlin is playing it cool on the HBMWD while Cobb does his puppet master dirt bag games. Their heraldo blog runs the frontal attack so Katlin can smear anyone while pretending to be Betty Boop in public. NEC suffers from the connection to them plus Greg King,Miller,Salzman,Kalt,Pete Nichols have used the dumb Mel McKinny,Diann Beck types to trumpet insane positions like Ann Lindseys alternate A health study. Even with the support from Mark,Bonnie and Clif on the BOS the public is sick of their lies. It's one of the few blessing we get from a country, state and economy in the crapper, the scam job from NEC,EPIC,Baykeeper,HUHC will suffer right along with the rest of us. I hope these blood sucker starve.

  12. My, my, my. Where's the compassion? Sure, You all supported NEC before they opposed a plan to restore the Klammath basin and you used to be respectful intellectual adversaries, but, that was when you were all butterflies sucking nectar. Some how you have degenerated and now you have become a swarm of milkweed chewing caterpillars and your poor diet has made you exceedingly bitter and destructive. Sad.

You know, you should start each new day with a good breakfast. Studies have shown that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I suggest that you all go apply for food stamps and pupate. You won't regret it.

  13. 6:41 - what have you been smokin?

  14. Nuthin'. I've been roasting caterpillars.

  15. Its medicinal.

  16. Milkweed eating caterpillars turn into monarch butterflies, the strongest butterflies in the world, the only ones able to cross oceans, so thanks for the compliment you didn't.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yer welcome. Have a roasted caterpillar. Want ranch with that?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ok, so I didn't mention our hellish brothers, the yellow sulphur butterflies which are your average puny types also foraging on our milkweeds. As a good Christian I'll take thousand island with those, thank you..hey, just kidding..God loves alls us chillin'.

  20. Beer? This is Humboldt County my friend, home to potheads anonymous, p.a. as it is unknown and we must keep our Humboldt product image to the world pure of distracting sub-influences. So inhale, brother, and be one with all fire-breathing dragons of destiny..

  21. You can have your p.a. and your IPA, too.
