Allison Jackson puts a crimp in secret plea deal

Pay ATTENTION. This is a big deal.

Denying a victim's rights, judge shopping, a complete and utter failure to act in an ethical and transparent manner.... and yet he, the DA, no less, lectures the people of the County about their 'priorities.'

Allison Jackson, who is representing the victim in the Elmy Workman case was never notified that the same plea deal that was rejected by Judge John Feeney was presented again to Judge Dale Reinholtsen. She was not also sure if Judge Reinholtsen had been given the background of the case. - John Chiv/Words Worth

Judge Reinholtsen said he had received Ms. Jackson's letter and a letter from Mr. Sanders and while he had reviewed the file, he needed to review it with depth. One of the reasons he mentioned was the three month plus Bodhi Tree trial and that he could not delay evidentiary rulings and reviewing jury instructions because they had already lost two jurors and one alternate and there are other schedules to consider after August 11.

He mentioned two options: one to hear oral arguments from all three attorneys, then rule a week from now or do everything on one date. Both Ms. Jackson and Mr. Sanders said there was no rush and they were willing to wait for the ruling. The next hearing is on August 13 at 2 p.m.

  1. Countdown until Dickie's and Paulie's lackeys start attacking Rose and Chiv.

Maybe the Times-Standard can print another pro Paul G. article.

  2. This should be disbarment/suspension. PVG tried to deceive a judge and by the standards applied to attorneys in court, if the report by Chiv/Jackson is accurate, intentionally lied and/or ordered a subordinate to do the same. Sanders was also under a legal obligation to tell Reinholtsen what Feeney had ruled. Did he?

  3. If it was not accurate, why didn't Sanders or Curtis say something in Court? Guess we wait until August 13 to see Paul's spin on this one.

If he even shows up to clean up his mess.

    2. You gotta love the dopers and scum that keep defending Paul who has cut deal after deal with his buddies and let child molesters go free.

Let us not forget Cruz waivers! And criminals who reoffend over and over because Paul is their lawyer's buddy.

And who is reporting these deals, not the media but some blogger.

    3. The media like PVG handing them pre-approved articles disguised as press releases.

January 2015 cannot come soon enough.

  5. One could argue that, as some have said all along, you can't believe a word PVG says. Shades of Douglas/Zanotti. The idea that a judge hearing a DDA argue a case has to sit there and wonder whether another judge has already ruled on the matter, and wonder whether anyone is going to say so or not, wonder whether the victim is being lied to (again), wonder what other facts are being misrepresented or omitted, is appalling. Of course, Rose has been telling us that for 12 years. Ironic that on his way out the door, Paul finally and completely blows his own cover. Petulant, insecure, sneaky, underhanded, vindictive, disrespectful.
