  1. Now, wait a minute, my version goes like this:

A big bully looking boy clutching an overflowing goodie bag labeled Executive bonus's is being admonished by Obama to "at least share one of your goodies" with a beggar child;>

    Happy Halloween, Rose!

  2. Kim,you are being led down the garden path. goldman Sacs has given your savior Obama 750,000$$$$ coroprate dollars maybe lots more. Think your man of change will go after crime and greed ? Think again. He will never bit the hand that feeds him. Welcome to the Obamanation where palosi and Berney Franks will take you for all you've got. You still have a chance to vote for real change, real hope and a real democratic society. If you are wise enough to vot for McCain. I think you are to intoxicated by lies though!

  3. The same Goldman Sacks that all the Obama radicals throw fits about at the HBHRCD? How does that jibe?

  4. She's a jerk, Eric.

Otherwise, until your pot grower buddies start forking over 30-50% of THEIR incomes, or you take a stand saying they should, you don't have any ground to stand on telling people to pay more, or that it is "patriotic" to pay taxes, or that those who don't want their taxes raised are "selfish."

That's Obama's world, take from those who are already paying taxes and give it to those who are not. Reverse the "Bush" tax cuts, which no one is telling you you will put millions of people BACK onto the tax rolls, not just a raise - then RAISE taxes some more - his "rich" people limit is now at $120,000 per FAMILY, not per wage earner (according to Bill Richardson, isn't it) - then you have Obama's statements that you "will pay less under his plan than you did under Reagan" - analyze that, Eric - under Reagan the tax rates were max 70%. They had loopholes back then, those were all removed when they LOWERED the max to 50% and then the current 36%.

PLUS STATE TAX, Capital Gains Tax, the Inheritance Tax, Excise Tax, Sales Tax, and all the little taxes you pay on your phone bill - the list in endless.

So you're going to hand over more money to the jerks who have already fucked over the entire nation - Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi in charge - do you trust them to spend it wisely?

    I don't.

I firmly believe the growers should pay much more into the community than they do. The younger generation isn't putting the money into the nonprofits as their parents did.

But better yet, legalize it, and sin tax it to boot. Fine with me.

As for the taxes, right now, in case you hadn't noticed, we're on the verge of a depression. It's going to require Keynesian spending to pull us out of it, and this time I'd like to see it done without a war, hot or cold. That's going to require revenues, and as we're learning, the tax breaks we've given the upper classes have not resulted in economically stimulating investment, any more than it did in the early 1980s before Reagan started pushing huge military spending.

The essence of government is the protection of wealth. If there was no wealth, we would hardly need government. The wealth is the primary beneficiary of government. It should foot the bill. In the meantime, spreading the wealth around is not only just, it's good for the economy. Then business has to go after the consumer for the money, and it can only do that by offering the consumer something in return. Giving the money directly to what Hayek called "the productive class" with no strings attached does not necessarily result in productive investment, contrary to Hayek and Friedman.

McCain is losing because he can't differentiate himself from Bush on economic policy. It's absolutely the wrong time to put conservatives in charge. We need a major restructuring of the economy and conservative measures aren't going to do it.

  6. "paying into the community" is not the same as TAXES, Eric. And people who pay taxes ALSO pay into the community.

You really do live in a strange reality.

Yeah. This is just the right time to turn the government over to a socialist, communist, totalitarian "community organizer" with no record and no morals.

One who won't release his college records, who fights the release of his birth certificate in court, who has something like 20% of his money having to be returned because it is illegal, who buses people in to make sure he wins - yeah. That's just what we need.

Better watch out, Eric, as a lawyer, you presumably make enough to make you one of the "rich."

To tax it you have to legalize it Rose. I support legalization, therefor I support taxation - no problem.

As for Obama being a communist, socialist (I wish), totalitarian (haven't heard that one yet), community organizer (for shame, he took a public interest job in lieu of a big money firm position), well, whatever. He's probably going to win, and you'll be better off for it.

I also don't know where you got the "didn't release his birth certificate." There is a long line of journalist, including those as factcheck.org, which have held and copied the certificate.

I don't know if you're aware of it, but the Department of Health Director of Hawaii put that one to bed earlier today.

  8. And no, I don't make anywhere near 250 grand a year. If I do end up making that kind of money, taxes will hardly be a concern.
