Michael Twombly, "Local Solutions" and MCSD

Early calls coming in said that last week, "Local Solutions" co-founder Michael Twombly appeared at the McKinleyville Community Services District Board meeting asking, on behalf of his 'church,' for relief from a large water bill. The water bill was the result of a leak. The 'church' was located on Boyd Rd.

So what church is it? Further investigation shows, not a church, but a shelter operated by the Humboldt All Faith Partnership.

Asked by Director John Corbett if there had been any ex parte communications, it was revealed that Twombly had contacted both Jeff Dunk and Javan Reid - who happen to be the candidates "Local Solutions" gave money to when they were running for election, and both of which were the subject of the recent Op-Ed by MCSD Manager Tom Marking.

Given how controversial "Local Solutions" involvement in MCSD matters is, you would think Twombly would know better. Even the appearance that he is asking for favors is harmful to both Dunk and Reid. And this request is not out of the ordinary, there would be no real need to lobby. For that matter, Dunk and Reid should have been leery of this contact. Asking for favors from politicians you have given money to is very bad form, especially from someone like Twombly (Salzman's communications director) who is so critical of other people in the local political scene. Perhaps Marking was not so far off base after all.

And is has certainly given rise to a great deal of speculation, given Salzman's blogger "heraldo's" sudden interest in McKinleyville. Ken MIller looked to be the logical suspect, as the only one of the Salzman crew who had a beef with Marking (Mad River Bluffs). But this is an interesting development.

There are some people who know who "heraldo" is - Eureka City Councilman Larry Glass is likely one of them

  1. Isn't he one of the guys who was behind a lot of the dirty tricks political stuff the last several election? Didn't his group bank roll a couple of MCSD campaigns?

  2. Ahhh, yes, Michael Twombly. Salzman's 'communications director' - co-owner of the AEB listserve, co-founder of "Local Solutions"...

Wonder what sort of propaganda he is practicing these days.

  3. Probably along the same lines as HELP, Humbuldt Business Council, HumCPR, etc. etc.

  4. HELP and Humboldt Business Council are amateurs compared to Twombly and Salzman aka the "Alliance for Ethical Business"/timberyesfraudno.rog/outhumboldt.org/behindtheredwoodcurtain/"Local Solutions" - not to mention Humboldt Watershed Council, Salmon Forever and all the rest.

Humboldt CPR is a different thing altogether. They are the thing Twombly and Associates fear the most, real people who have come together in a real grassroots effort to stop the incursion Twombly and co. have made.

Nothing tops Salzman/AEB plotting to subvert the judicial system by setting up a pla to solicit accept and use special interest money to fund their precious Palco lawsuit via the PUBLIC prosecution by their boy Gallegos.

Nothing tops the money brought in by the AEB.

Funny you should choose that tach, though. It's vaguely familiar.

  5. The correct word is tact or tack, depending on what you are trying to say, Rose. Tach is an abbreviation for tachometer. Tack is a sailing term also used to describe a change in position or a course of action. Tact is the ability to communicate without offending. Which were you trying to say?

  6. Heh - dang typos - tack, of course.

  7. It's really a funny to read good old spin doctor 10:08. Local Solutions,to what? The crap these types carry with them is much like a virus. It makes them crazy and it must be passed along.

  8. heraldo had a lot of negitive and very slanted remarks about MCSD the last several weeks. I wonder how connected heraldo him or her is to local solutions? Care to speak up.

  9. The truth seemingly hidden often is right in front of your eyes. Sub text/ 10:08 say's"probably along the same lines of Help.etc...." in answere to a question about what sort of propaganda Twombley,etc... are practicing today". He does not deny. He tries to justify with an example he believes to be justification for his bad behavior. How very progressive!

  10. Very interesting questions come to mind. What is the connection with Heraldo.local solution,HWC,the anti-home depot movement? Is there money being past around on the QT to sway the masses to the party line? What is heraldo's position in this? Does heraldo have a political job that recieves benifit from these positions? Is the blog a front for an illegal political movement? Just questions. I'd be interested in seeing the dots connected.

  11. Those are all interesting questions - "heraldo" refused to answer the question about whether or not he went to church in McKinleyville, but when pressed he said I should show up on Sunday and introduce myself. Since his "church" isn't a church at all but a Night Shelter operated by Humboldt All Faith Partnership, that could be considered a snarky remark.

I didn't know Buddhists met on Sunday. But I'm thinking I should take "him" up on "his" offer.

    Whaddya think?

There's no question that "heraldo" is a propaganda arm for Salzman/Lovelace/Miller et al, and since Twombly is Salzman's communications director, it is certainly a possibility, maybe even a probability, that "heraldo" is Michael Twombly.

  12. When trying to get a handle on the nasty slant Local Solutions added to the MCSD and why, it becomes crystal clear when you read Twombly's war challenge to John Woolley. It's do what we say John or we will crush you. They will eat their own and John may be their next fatted calf.

  13. Spot on 11:50. No independeant thought allowed in local progressive politics. Larry Evans for commrad general.

  14. McKinleyville is a ripe plum for the picking. Lots of growth/no growth possibilities. Future Grants,Grants,Grants and a nice stepping stone for further political dreams. It's happened before so don't think local solutions or anything it becomes won't try to reap the upcomming bounty.

  15. Woolley has proven himself to be two faced and slimy. His local solutions PALS must something if he's not low enough for them.

  16. Rose, what role did/does Twombly play with local solutios? Why would he be so vocal aganist MCSD if he is heraldo?

    ReplyDelete
  17. It twombly is heraldo it really goes aganist his public sweet pea image.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Twombly has a sweet pea image? Heh. I don't think so.

He "heraldo" wasn't against all of MCSD, just Marking. (well, and maybe Wennerholm, Corbett and Helen)

Obviously, "heraldo" would be anti-Marking because they have him pegged as pro-development, and those guys HATE development, it's why they're so virulently anti-railroad, among other things.

One could infer that it was Ken Miller's beef because of the Mad River Bluffs, since he is the primary member of the crew that LIVES in McKinleyville, but I don't see Ken Miller sitting at his computer all day blogging.

Lovelace and Buettner don't live in McKinleyville and have no reason to have a beef with Marking.

But Twombly having a sudden connection, combined with Miller - now that is interesting.

In an Occam's Razor kind of way.

  19. So are you saying that Twombly/local solutions dislikes 3 out of 5 directors on MCSD plus the manager? With such a well run district the question is why. Why does local solution support the other 2 directors? Developement can't be the real issue, can it. Some have said it's just about power. Just getting "their" people elected to local offices. Making issues out of everyday normal functions of society is just a means to their ends. They seem to be blowing issues out of all porportion and to often it's working for them.

  20. Heraldo is a woman. Many know who she is, I am surprised you don't. Or do you and just playing it?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Twombly is gay. Does that count?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Does setting in front of his keyboard in drag make him a HERaldo?

    ReplyDelete
  23. If her-aldo is a female then she is a real mess. Perhaps a bull dike not out of the closet yet. As screwed up as heraldo's blog persona is,that would make some sence.

    ReplyDelete
  24. County counsel Ruth is high on my list to be heraldo. Even in drag she's a little better looking than Twombly.

  25. Not sure about that one 12:05 She was reported to be gone on a sunny vacation with a NPS gal friend all the while Jane Doe on heraldo was off line. Since both got back, Jane is up and running again. Either way she seems way to close to the anti-maddness.
