Double dipping?

Yougofree.com is listed in the yellow pages (page 23 of the phonebook) under Attorneys with a cell phone (apparently) as his number. The really odd thing though is that he didn't list it under Schwartz, Jeffrey which would be the normal listing. No. He hid it. Listed it as Jeffrey, Schwartz. Under J instead of S.

Has he garnered any clients since that listing came out? Has he handled any of the cases? Dispensed any legal advice? Does he take private calls while on the public payroll? What does he do if his client is due to face the DA's office? Have there been any such cases? If there were, what kind of treatment did they receive? Were any charges dropped, any plea bargains made? Isn't there a conflict here? There certainly is the appearance of conflict.

Is he returning to private practice? Question is, will he get his yougofree.com domain name and website back?

* also listed conventionally in bayyellow.com phone book under Schwartz, Jeff 498-2781 under Attorneys, pg 19

  2. I've been hearing rumors.

  3. Not rumors anymore. No more Hugo/ Yougofree.com.

It will be interesting to hear what the party line will be for his .... departure ! This should be interesting. Similar to Tim Stoen's exit.

  4. Is he actually gone or did he wait until July 1st to get 2 weeks of administrative leave that he hasn't earned. What a scam.

  5. Well, the funny part will be watching what happens from here.
If he does go into private practice, given his success to date as a defense lawyer in Humboldt, who's going to hire him? No one who needs a TRIAL lawyer, that's for sure. And will he get sweet deals from PVG's office?
Remember, all the DDA's know he's lazy and incompetent and will plead rather than go to trial and be terrible if he does go to trial. No yougo client should get any deal other than plead as charged, assuming the charging is done right. And all the felony charging is Keat, who knows what he's doing.

  6. Yes he scammed his "bonus" admin time, but he is gone ! He's still a loser but he is no longer a loser pretending to be a prosecutor.

  7. I'm 100% satisfied as long as he's gone. For once, the replacement of a Humboldt DDA cannot possibly be any worse than the one we "lost".

And who is now the vertical CAST deputy? Oh, wait, CAST is kaput, so who cares?

Still, where are the CAST documents Rose requested? Was it the imminent release of paperwork that would show what a fiasco CAST has become that motivated this departure?

  8. could be ?!

Hugo is Hugone and normal people should rejoice!

Now how about a formal decsision on the Cheri Moore shooting? Gallegos should not be allowed to hold this hammer over the EPD. WDhat day is it now ?

  9. It'll be interesting to see if PVG puts out a press release on yougofree.com's unusual departure? Even more interesting will be how he spins it up or lies about the REAL reason.

  10. Doubt if he'll do that if he is on another vacation.

  11. With the departure of yougo, maybe the people are entitled to a
side by side comparison of the
resumes of the lawyers PVG had when he got there, vs the ones he hired, versus what's left.

  12. that would be very interesting

  13. Has anyone previously pointed out that Mr. Schwartz was (is?) not just a defense attorney, he is of that peculiar subspecies, the San Francisco defense attorney. It used to be good fun to see them city slickers roll into town expecting to walk right over the bumpkins, only to have Isaac or Dikeman or Jackson or ________ (your favorite departed prosecutor here) hand him or her his head in a basket. Good times, good times. The defense bar apparently runs SF, such that many SF defense lawyers have no apparent knowledge of procedure or substantive law. So Mr. Schwartz's manifest buffonery is no huge surprise.

  14. Baffoon ! Yes that fits Jeff well.

  15. Wait... he's gone? how do we know? Oh please don't tease me like this. Tell me this is true and not a hoax. This isn't a joke is it? Yougo is really gone?

  17. one crooked slime ball down. now start the ball rolling to get ride of john woolley. then keep going.

  18. Maybe Rodoni will "bitch slap" Wooley and we can get rid of him?

Rodoni, what a miserable excuse for a supervisor/public servant.

  19. Well, somebody ought to warn the
SF defense bar that the new guy
Rob Wade is no one to fool with.
Yes, from Humboldt to Napa, where he won a ten year old murder case that no one else would touch, then last summer Wade was hired by SF. Once part of the pride of Humboldt's homicide team(along with Fleming, Cardoza, Dikeman and Keat) he is among the many donations PVG has made to the rest of the state's DA's. But hey, we have PVG and AK and AD, so what's to worry. Like going from the Magnificent Seven to the Seven Dwarfs.

  20. CDAA's Ethics Committee provides a hotline for prosecutors confronted with difficult ethical issues. Each month, a prosecutor serving on the Ethics Committee is available to answer questions and provide resource information to California's prosecutors. To obtain the name and number of the on-duty prosecutor, please call CDAA at (916) 443-2017. Our receptionist, Jennifer Marcoux, will provide you with that information.

    ReplyDelete
  21. "Our receptionist, Jennifer Marcoux..."? Why is she identified with name & title but you write under "anonymous", 11:20?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Thought that sounded familiar - it's off the CDAA site: http://www.cdaa.org/cdaaethics.htm

Is there any reason to have any faith in them? Or the Attorney General?

Seems to me they all say the same thing - there's nothing we can do.

    ReplyDelete
  23. except fire Hagen at PVG's request.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Which answers Ms.Shelley's question - PVG already arranged for the termination of one CDAA prosecutor, and given his record, anonimity is a judicious choice.

  25. I understand. I know it's discussed regularly here, but does anybody have an actual count of how many people have been fired & how many have quit since Gallegos took office?

    ReplyDelete
  26. see labels, brain drain, on the main rose page, left side

    ReplyDelete
  27. At least 20 as I count them. I believe 13 of the 17 he started with were driven off, fired or quit in disgust. And by my limited count 7 of his own hires quit. The sad but funny part is that they have an open hiring for all levels page on the county website and they can’t refill these positions.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks, 5:10... & I apologize for what I was thinking about you about 10 seconds ago.... I thought you were calling me "brain drain" - ha! ha! Guess I might be....

    ReplyDelete
  29. His own hires were mostly fired.
    Penny, Hauschild, Pekin, Stoen
were all forced out. Possibly also Mendez and yougo.

  30. I understand yogofree.com has been assigned by Paulie to the CAST program. Yep - he's the Deputy DA who works the most horrific cases we see in this county - child sexual assault. How's that program going Paul?
