  2. Quite a few of us do anon...

And we are very much interested in how these groups morph to render the appearance that they exist in vast numbers.

As for Dr. Pot, as far as I am concerned any group he is associated with is tainted by him.

  3. That's right, 12:11. People do care whether or not they are being manipulated, used and played for fools. People have a right to know the truth. Then they can make up their minds from an informed place. Is Mark Lovelace is the PRESIDENT of a large group? When he is quoted as such, people have a right to know if it is the truth, or a carefully constructed version of the truth.

Salzman went to alot of trouble to get alot of people to sign on to the "Alliance for Ethical Business" to create the appearance of a large "grassroots" movement. People"joined" and believed they were part of a team, with a right to participate in decisions that were made. Many were soon surprised to learn that it was Richard's gig, and he made all the decisions.

You have a right to know the truth behind the flowery words.

For example, when "Humboldt Baykeeper" says they're there to promote the health of the bay that sounds so much better than, "we are here to sue the shit out of Red Emmerson, one of the wealthiest men in the state."

You say you don't care? But you would if it was, say, a Republican group - then you'd be analyzing and ripping apart every word and phrase. And you would understand that even the name is a lie.

  4. People do care whether or not they are being manipulated, used and played for fools. People have a right to know the truth. Then they can make up their minds from an informed place. Is Rose Welch the PRESIDENT of a large group? When she is quotes herself as such, people have a right to know if it is the truth, or a carefully constructed version of the truth.

Rose went to alot of trouble to get WatchPaul up and running to create the appearance of a large "grassroots" movement. People supposedly were interested and believed they were part of a team, with a right to participate in. Many were soon surprised to learn that it was solely Rose's gig, and she had no following at all.

You have a right to know the truth behind the flowery words.

You say you don't care? You should. And you would understand that most everything she says is without fact and likely just the regurgitation of some right wing corporate funded fanatical group.

  5. there you go 4:31 - working without tools again.

problem with your spin R.Trent (or is is Ken or Mark) is that the facts posted speak for themselves. They are not like your drivelling opinion - not like the misinformation you spread. My god I am laughing because Rose has never claimed to be "president" of some large group - unlike the R.Trent Alliance for Ethical business crap, loco solution, humboldt watershed council, healthy humboldt etc.

Just an one very honest and tenacious woman with the facts and who wont back down and what happens - your shorts get all knotted up.

    Keep it up Rose.

  6. Yeah, that is pretty funny.

When I start calling myself the President of WatchPaul - meaning if there ever is such an organization - you can have all the information that goes along with it - any membership roster, any officers, minutes of any meetings where any person is voted into any office, or any vote is taken to decide to file suit.

"some right wing corporate funded fanatical group

That's really really funny. By your logic you have to be right wing to believe in right and wrong.

These days everyone seems to think they can't stand up alone to say anything, so they have to invent a group, and claim they are part of a "growing coalition." Then they think that by pretending they have numbers behind them, people will listen, and give them credence. And so far it is working.

I'm saying, look behind the curtain, John Driscoll. The little man pretending to be big ought to be outed.

Then you can weigh his opinion fairly.

In the meantime, consider the fact that Humboldt County has a gazillion public interest, advocate, activist, real grassroots kinds of groups. They're all pretty happy to tell you all about themselves - who they are, how they got started, where their money comes from, and how it is spent - but not the Ken Miller/Lovelace/Salzman/Shellenberger groups.

They go to GREAT lengths to hide who they are, disguise their true intent, and twist the facts to "structure the debate."
