Enough already

How long is the TS going to keep running Burgess letters?

  1. I was wondering the same thing. I know it takes a while for letters to show up in the T-S, but it can't take this long, can it? Are people still writing letters on this?

Thanks for the heads up Rose-it caused me to remember this morning that I'd written a letter long ago decrying one of the T-S headlines so I emailed Rich to flush it please.

  7. What might be the problem with an officer shooting a dog that attacked an officer, Mark? Didn't they then take it to a vet? It didn't die did it?

  8. Far as I am concerned shooting a pit bull is a public service.

  9. I cop shoots a pit bull! So what Markie? Pit Bull's are a dangeours breed, pure and simple, they were breed for it. Pit Bulls can't be reasoned with. The cop should be sent to the range for additional training. Many dogs are great, few Pit Bulls are even OK. I agree, it's a public service.

  14. Well I went out and dug it out for you Rose.It was in the Briefly Section.

Officer Shoots Pit Bull Who Charged Him.

Eureka-An unattended pit bull mix was shot by a police officer Tuesday afternoon as it charged the officer in an area behind the Eureka Boiler Works.
The Eureka Police Department said officers were called to the area by the owner of the property to check out trespassing violations.
While an officer was investigating the property, a pit bull charged at the officer.
When the animal failed to stop and was about a foot away from the officer, it was shot. Police took the animal to a veterinarian, where it is recovering.
The owner of the dog, who was not on the scene, was contacted later.

  15. Mr. Mark are you for real?

All kinds of things are not reported. Whether it's the cops being too busy to put out press releases or the news media chasing political windmills instead of reporting real everyday stuff.

I think you would be really surprised if you had a real idea of what goes on in Humboldt County that is not reported.
